I am curious about dual pump setups. I have a Hydor L35 and shes great. Sometimes stutters a bit when i turn her of but after a second or two starts pumping (this happens about 1 in every 8 start ups from long periods of rest).

Anyways i was curious about the difference in run 2 pumps in series versus 2 pumps in parallel.

IE in series the out of a pump goes into the in of another. Or in parallel, the water splits, goes into both then remerges.

Or even putting one pump before a radiator and one pump after (effectively series).

Ive read though previous posts and couldnt really find much. Thanks for input.

series should increase the head pressure ...not likely what you need unless you have heavier than normal restriction.
parallel should increase the flow ...probably what you would want.

series, always series. Parrallel will get you NOTHING. Series will get you very little because of the extra heat added.

These systems are allways limited by the pressure drop (head) rather than the pumps max flowrate.

So running praralell wont increase your head by much (if any) so your flowrate wont go up much

Running series will increase the max head and may give a better flowrate.
But this depends on the pumps ability to work like this.

Unless you want to run two loops (one for CPU and one for GPU) its not worth running multiple pumps in the vast majority of cases.
