hey i was pointed here from oc forum about Q i have

for these spec :
amd 3500 winchester (hope 3800 venice will arrive)
DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR
OCZ 1024MB (2x512MB) EL DDR PC 4000 GOLD VX
WD SATA 74GB 10000 RPM
MSI NX6800GT T2D256 PCI-E 256Mb 256Bit
NEC ND-3520A Dual Layer DVD±R/W/DL 16X Black Bulk
Tagan TG480-U02 480Watt
Thermaltake Shark VA7000 Black
Danger Den Copper TDX Block for AMD Athlon 64 754/939/940
Danger Den Acetal MAZE4 GPU Block for nVIDIA/ATi
Danger Den (Laing) DD12V-D4 1/2" Pump
Danger Den Black Ice Xtreme Radiator - Black 1/2
Danger Den Bay Reservoir High-Density Polyethylene
AeroCool GateWatch Black

will the pump/radiator be enough for both cpu/gpu ?

you might want to go with a BIP2 instead of a single BIX they cost about the same and can be found at www.sidewindercomputers.com

Pump yes, rad NO! Get atleast a BIX2 with that or better yet...get a Weapon modded heatercore (talk to Weapon, he's on the forums here).

a single 120mm rad will NOT handle a gpu plus cpu well at all.. it will get overloaded.

really? i concur... i'm running an innovatek dual radiator and it handles my temps just fine. granted it's a little bit smaller than the BIX2 setup I have it does the job fine and did I mention it's not even has thick as the BIP2? My setup is a64 1.8 @ 2.5ghz @ 1.6vcore, bfg 6800nu with dtek WW and maze4 gpu.

MaxxxRacer, I'd have to disagree with you. Nexxo over at bit-tech runs dual opteron and a radeon 9800 on a single 120mm radiator. Full load temps on both CPU's a good bit below 50 degrees.

yah i said good performance.. 50 degrees on watercooling is HORRIBLE.. under 40 is good...

when ur getting 50C temps on water that means ur setup is not doing what it is supposed to do.. if he upgraded his radiator to a dual 120mm he would see a huge increase in performance from teh system. i bet his radiator right now is spewing out rather warm air

If you would have taken your time to properly read what i wrote you would know his temperatures are not at 50 degrees. I said they are GOOD BIT BELOW 50 degrees. If i remember correctly they are 43-45 on load. He doesn't have more space in his config for a dual. I just wanted to point out that a properly set up watercooling loop CAN handle all that heat on a single 120mm rad. That doesnt mean a dual wont be better though. But a dual isnt something everyone can fit into the case without sacrifizing aestetics or money.

Still he should get the BIX2 to keep the temps in check with lower speed fans... Once you start getting into the world of LOUD watercooling, it becomes less worthwhile.

agreed zeebs I want QUIET!!!!!

speaking of quiet anyone seen this?

well i do get you so i'll think about it for sure ,unlucky me the 9800 for sure makes less heat then the 6800gt so...............

heck i need bigger radiator !

as long as the pump and others is enough ;)

A 120mm rad will work ok for that setup IF you use a higher CFM fan and a propper shroud.

A dual 120 will easily handle it and be quieter.

obvious :(

a thought.......

might be that the shark own wind will help it ?

cause i intend to put the radiator between 2 fans
(one inside case, one outside on radiator)

MaxxxRacer

dont bother putting a fan on either side of the radiator. its more noise than its worth. just get a dual 120mm radiator and put them on both sides. your coolant temps will thank you later.

Noldor: I didnt want to get into this before, but i guess i willl. his and everyone elses cpu temp is totaly fubared. none of them work correctly. a single 120mm rad would not keep dualy opterons and a 9800 at that temp. its just not possible. the water temp at that point would be about 40C.

i think i can take smaller 80fan+radiator = 2 loops

but still the thought of dual side fans for radiator might be it

MaxxxRacer

dual side fans on the radiator will gain you almost nothing. its been proven time and again. so you can really stop thinking about it as a viable option.

80mm radiators are not a good idea. they perform very poorly. 2 80mm radiators perform worse than one 120mm radiator.

aight ! got you

if i need a bigger radiator then i can only put him only on top or the shark,

so is there another way ?

Dual fans on a HC at low rpm will aprox. equal 1 loud higher rpm fan.
If you're into quiet, go dual Yate Loons and a Quieter pump.

MaxxxRacer

got a picture of your case. i can try to look for a spot to put it. usually on top of the case is where most ppl with small cases put their larger radiators/ heatercores

gillll

well i had slept on it last night and to put it in the shark case will be hard
so i'm dropping the shark for my old full tower case that i'll mode for the stuff

hehe went to a car painter :D i might paint the case with dual color color
(purple/blue).

still i need to cut the side plates in some sort - any advise fir that ??

dremel is best.

Dual fans on a HC at low rpm will aprox. equal 1 loud higher rpm fan.
If you're into quiet, go dual Yate Loons and a Quieter pump.

Not at all. A dual heatercore has 1/2 the airflow restriction of a single core. That way you can use 1/2 the fan energy for the same airflow, and thus substantially reduce noise.

ok lets continue :D

this is a diagram of case and mobo

what's the best water configuration for the system in terms of space ?

parts that should be in are :

reservoir,
pump,
2*120 m"m radiator,
one cd,
aero cool control panel (2* 5.25)
accessories front panel (1*5.25)

and the should get in it :

also keep in mind that i might put tunnel above ram to a upper 120m"m fan

bought today a dremel on sale with 40 parts :D

now what's left will be designing the case and drilling the holes
