Hello, I'm sort of new to this forum, but I have found alot of great info here. I ran into a slight problem after performing the memory and core voltage mods on my 9800xt (pro). I put the card back in and got "no signal". I thought that maybe resetting my bios would do the trick, but b4 doing that and having to reset all my settings I would quadruple check the connections once more. I noticed that on the chip where I did the memory mod the solder looked pretty close to anothe pin, not touching, but just close, so I pulled out a blade and made a little room there but in the process I broke off a resistor next to the chip. Aaaah! So now I need to find the schematics for the circuit board so I can replace the resistor with an equivalent one that would be easier to put on the board. Any help would be great! I'm dyin over here!

He, sry to hear about your accident.
Could you provide a picture of the area, or at least give us the number beside the resistor? I have a (dead) xt laying around somewhere; happy to measure the resistor in question.

Hey, thank you very much for the offer, I wuz able to get the resistor back on and now I am up and running. My next question is now that I have adjusted my voltages up to 1.9 and 2.9 I cannot run prime95 for more than a half hour without blue screening. Wheras b4 I could prime all day and nite. My agp vddq in bios is 1.6 (heard that was 9800xt default) should I up it to 1.7 or even 1.8? I tried upping to 1.7 and still blue screened. I'm afraid to cook my board with 1.8 yet but maybe I need to. I also have the droop mod on my mobo, so that's not the prob. I thot meybe to up the vcore and the agp vddq, but that duzn't work either. Any suggestions would be great! By the way here's the pic with the missing resistor. It's R122 ;)

Hey, you got it back on, very nice!

As far as I know, Prime95 is a stress-tester for CPU and RAM, not your GPU. I have heard ppl claim that raising the AGP voltage in bios helps to achive higer stable OC of the frontside bus. I wouldn't reccomend more than 1,6 -1,7. ( I think default is 1,50).
I also think that the bluscreen you get has nothing to do with your GPU, but a little to much OC of the CPU or frontside bus (AMD or Intel?). Pehaps your RAM isn't up for the speed ?
Personally, I would leave the CPU & Front side bus at default when testing the GPU.

Have you done the Vcore-mod yet?

Best regards

Hey, thanks for the concern :) Yes I have done the vcore mod for my mobo and ever since then my pc was running solid without much droop at all. Last nite I turned my fsb back to stock speeds and set my latencies to normal and still getting bsod, this time with an error said something about tcpip.sys corrupt. I think I corrupted Windows with the whole thing and need to perform a "Repair" install. :( At least I won't lose anything xcept for my Windows updates.

I am running 3.0E D0 P4 right now. I wuz running 2.66 Celeron 330 D b4 this and I just recently got the new P4. I think I have corrupted Windows since getting the new processor while testing for my highest OC. But.... anyother suggestions wouldn't hurt ;) Thanks for the help thus far.

Specs:

P4 3.0E D0 @ 3.82 FSB 255
768mb Samsung 2700 @ 408mhz 2.5-3-3-7
9800 XT (Pr0) volt modded

Looks to me that your windows installation has become corrupt du to OC. Suggest you do a repair install of it. Anyway, you better ask the guys at the cpu-section in this forum for better advice ;-)
