Well Ive been following this wonderful site for a while now looking in it for info everyday and I just wanted to ask a question of its members on what I should do. Ive built computers for my self and others so I do look up what works good at the time and what doesnt for the comps I build, but in the next 6 months or so I will be building myself a new machine and wanted to ask others for a change on what they think works well. Im looking in trems of mobo... cpu... and maybe ram if they got the addvice on it. Amd is the choice obviously for cpu but the rest is really in the air. Im not looking to do any real O.C. on it but if i do it wont be much just a slight bump. Im just looking for something that works well with its components and can play games well. For cpu and Mobo Im looking to spend something around 400-500 trying to keep it lower if can. Well thank you for your help it is very much appreciated. Hope Im not to much of a bother :)

I suggest a 3000+ venice or winchester along with a chaintech nforce 4 ultra motherboard. For ram, get patriot 2-3-2-5 pc-3200 ram which is good and cheap. And for the video card, a 6600 GT is excellent.

if you're not looking to o/c get a winchester, but if you think you may want to try your hand at some clocking in the future wait for venice.
If you're not going to Oc much & you want to go pci-x then a good inexpensive choise is
EPoX"EP-9NPA+Ultra (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-123-236&depa=1)=$113
And if you're sticking with agp then this.
GIGABYTE"GA-K8NS Ultra-939" (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-128-263&depa=1)=$115
The 3000+ (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-501&depa=1)=$146 or 3200+ (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-502&depa=1)=$190
And since you wont be pushing the HTT up too high i'd go with G.skill 1GB(512MBx2) (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-231-012&depa=1)=$98.99
That leaves you enough for Xp90 (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-109-119&depa=1)=$36.99
But if you really want to save look at the Referbs (http://www.newegg.com/app/catalog.asp?type=Refurbished) :D

Wow thank you for the quick feed back. I was thinking about getting either the msi neo plat4 or dfi lan party ultra d or something like that but Im starting to see things about the dfi on DOA and them craping out? Ive saw a review between alot of diff Mobo and it looked as if the dfi was better but I dont want it to junk out on me you know. I hate having to try to return things on the net. I wish I could see the part of the forms for sells and trades. I wouldnt mind buying someones slightly used comp if there about to up grade and need to get rid of it :) Right now my setup consist of...
Amd 2800+ (stock HS)
abit an7 mobo
1gig corsair (2x512) Pc3200
ati 9600xt 128mg :(
So you see Im really in need of an upgrade :)
Well since you dont plan on overclocking much i wouldnt worry about it. ;)

By the time you are willing to upgrade, maybe the Sapphire "Gruper" mobo will be released. Don't know how it will perform but doesn't seem more of a gamble than the DFI to me. We'll have to see the price too.
if you are not going to overclock asus and winney are a good stable choice. But if you ever grow into overclocking dfi or msi give you more options and more control.

Our forum has been experiencing tremendous growth in the last month. Although we have been very lenient with regard to the types of threads that members have been starting on this forum, we highly encourage the use of the search function and a little bit of research.
I have noticed numerous threads with the same topic: What should I get? What do you all recommend? Which is better? There is no need to be redundant with these questions and threads. Instead, let's try to do our fair share of research to help us better decide which road to travel.
Kindly take the time to visit the AMD Section Guidelines (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=58976) thread for suggestions on how to start threads and move towards more constructive discussions.
Thanks. ;)

I started this thread before the other was made I think both of us made the same thread almost at the same time. I thought about this already and told my self well man if I would have waited 1 more min I could have just posted in his. I really dont like making threads asking questions cause as I said in the tread with the guy saying WHERE CAN I GET A VENICE. WHERE CAN I GET A VENICE. WHERE CAN I GET A VENICE. Im scared someone is going to get on my case. Yes I did read the rules and yes I know how to search ( Ive been looking at this site for a year and thats all Ive done is run searchs) So i thought hey wouldnt hurt me asking a simple question :) And Ive already got what I need from the wonderful people here In this post that just wanted to help me out. Dont worry I just wont start new threads anymore thats simple enough

seriously threads like this are pointless... theres a whole forum for you to look at to decide what to get!

Then I guess you could say the same for more than 1/2 of the threads in this section on page 1.... and like i said I wont post new threads anymore ok :)
and also blinky I said I wanted others input cause I already think i know what I want just wanted to know what others thought I should be look forward to in the next 6 months or so
Slow down champ, I think you're taking all this the wrong way.
