Every time I click once, it registers as a double. When I drag to select text and let go, it acts as if I double clicked again.

I know its not a deal with the double click rate in windows because it started to do it here recently and slowly progressed to where every other click or so is double. It gets real irritating..

It aint but two years old. Infact I think I bought it around this time.

It was in the usb port originally and I figured it was something to do with that so I put it back into PS/2 and it still does it.. ><

hm... Could it be that you have somesort of setting in you mouse options. It could be a option in your mouse settings called click lock. Turn it off and you should be fine.

I had the exact same mouse and had the same damn problems. It turned out that the mouse just deteriorated and the click mechanism broke down.

I got the Logitech MX700, never looked back since. Worked like a dream. Luckily it had nothing to do with my CPU.

Haha, thats weird, small world to have someone else have the same mouse and problem
