Thought I got a great deal, 36$ shipped. Get it in the mail 2 days after ordering whoo hoo! So I turn it on to check the rails... 5.5v 3.35v and... 10.93v  Open her up and take a look at the pots, put it (12v/5v) at minimum resistance and I get 5.5v and 11.23v

Have I been duped?! :slap:

no, it was used. No box or anything included. The guy said he never opened the psu up and it worked fine.

I'm wonder, and I don't see why this would be, but maybe if it lowers the 12v rail by 1 or 2 volts if there is nothing pulling on it. Makes no sense to me, but he said it worked fine for him, and I'm sure if your 12v rail isn't even at 11v ur computer is not gonna work, I don't care how crappy it is.

Unless the PSU has a minimum draw of about 2 amps on each line they won't supply the correct voltage.

It's odd that decreasing the resistance increased the voltage, normally it is the other way around. I think the guy might have lied to you and tried to mod it in some way and messed up.

Oh, maybe I said that wrong then. Shouldn't decreasing them inscrease resistance tho? I thought that was right. But maybe ur right, I hope you are. About the drawing at least 2amps thing. Thanks for that :). Looks like I might have gotten a good psu after all then.

How did you check the rails? if you did it in BIOS you should just ignore those results :) cus they are always to low.
Check the rails with a Fluke or something simular. (i doesnt know the name in english, but i hope you know what iam talking about) :)

I checked it with my multi meter. I havn't installed the psu on any computer yet.

Acctually, yeah, I was thinking about the old way to mod sense lines. (I have no idea why, I havn't done it like that in years)

Less resistance to ground = more voltage.
