hi ingentingmendeg. I am learning too. Yes, you can build a vapochill. however, it won't be called a vapochill ;)

Instead, it'd be your own.

Quick Reply: is there any websites that teach you step by step on how to build your own phase change cooler?

Well, in a way, there is one. It doesn't tell how, but it can help you understand.

www.icecoldcomputing.com

That's the site. :)

If you need more help, go PM chilly1.

im a nub at phase change as well.. i just read a lot and now i know how to build them, and have built some simple coolers of my own.

Read more first, then it will all make more sense. You will save yourself some headache if you do this first....this site is the "how to" guide, you just gotta learn how to read it.

Good luck. :toast:

Yeah im n00b to, just read a lot so you understand how it works fully, and read more to learn tips, tricks, what not to dos etc. I am in the process of buying parts on a tight budget, luckily I wont need to be buying to many tools.

Let's put it this way, I've had all the parts to build a custom phase-change setup lying around for at least a few months. In that time, I've gone through at least 8 motherboards, 10 pairs of memory, and about a dozen cpu's. So in short - YES, it's much more difficult and complex than assembling a pc (unless of course you're some sort of HVAC tech and even some of those have trouble comprehending these direct-die setups) ;)

at first they dont make sense.
i would recomend print some of the good ones out and read them over and over and over, until ya understand.
you may need to read several times before it starts to make sense.
i know i had to.
then when ya start to build you put therory to practise.
then the questions really start.

lol

Some of the stickies are good, but a few are kinda lacking in explanations...

Now I wonder if it's a good idea to actually print out all the sticky pages. :D

EDIT: What do you mean by the "good" ones?

now if ya can understand these ones/ or think they arent good i suggest not to try phase change, might hurt you brain.
i would like to see you make a more detailed explanations please feel free.

if a thread gets sticked there is a good reason for this, its really really valuable information. And the reason why there are so many is because its not the easiest thing to make a phase change system.

Why not www.icecoldcomputing.com? It shows a basic guide/project with good explanations.

I mean the guides show you how, but it doesn't necessarily explain what goes on and how the phase shift parts work...

wouldn't you want to know what's going on in case it messes up?

Just read and read some more. I felt the same way when i started out, but it hit me one day and it all clicked for me. That's when i started my build.
