help me please I have drive failure

ok , i reformatted and came to re-install HL2 , and erm , well it didnt work , it doesnt show that there is a disk in the drive , even though its in there :S , someone please help , it works on my other CD's and it DID work on my HL2 CD until now , help me :'( thanks in advance

Is it a dvd? Do you own a dvd-rom drive?

i have this problem with farcry, i installed it fine from the dvd, then i came to reinstall windows - all went smoothly but despite using the same dvd drive the disk wasnt detected at all by the drive even with firmware updates etc... its the weirdest thing i've ever come across, i close the drive - the light stays on, nothing autoruns so i go into my computer - dvd drive, this then causes win explorer to freeze until i either kill it in task manager or eject the dvd from the drive :s to this day i havnt sorted it :stick:

Damn i feel for you man. :( It is an awesome game. Sounds like you're gonna need another dvdrom or find yourself an iso.;)
