If your 3.3v line is at the right voltage, you could try connecting the 3.3v line to the damaged regulators output, and supply the voltage through your 3.3v line instead of using the regulator for voltage.

Lol persivore.....think simply :) Hes missing 4 pads that i can see, so if he can scrape and follow those traces, get the values of the original components he can probably solder new ones on. However that trasistor might be tough.

i cant. because the soldering pads are broken out too....
very nice job :toast: :slap: -Pan
İt wasnt Hard  :dj:
İ am never going to use a cheep Chinise made soldering iron.....
Persivore your idea seemed nice to me :)
İn your project i could also be able to incrise graphic cards Vmem up to 5.1v  (By moded i/o voltage)
How could i find the regulator outputs so?

I don't know where you would connect it to. Can you get a bigger picture of the card?

Solder pads are gone..i know this..but the traces leading to them are still there...so you can follow them to alternate solder points...

Can you tell me what is written on the chip I have circled, and can you zoom in on the area on the front of the card I have marked please.

ok... i get the photos...
But persivore i couldn't read the chips label.... İ zoomed it..
Maybe you could read it....

if you couldn't i will try to find it from google. maybe i could find a photo of that chip....

I think it might be an IRF212? from international rectifier (IoR). There might be some other numbers after the 212 which I can't read tho. I couldn't find any information on the chip, but I will look again later.

i am searching the chips label. but i can't find any info.... But maybe can find something at these days...

Can you try to get the number off the mem chips instead. From that, it might be possible to find a point to connect a new voltage supply to.

Chips name is CS51031 FROM On Semiconductor....
You can also take a look to the link on my First Post.....
Some of the chips labels are writen there...

The only thing I could suggest (and I'm not sure if it will work) would be to find a read point for the damaged voltage regulator (you could probably use the leg of a capacitor for this - it will probably read 0v on the + lead due to the dead voltage regulator), and connect the new voltage supply from the 3.3v line to this point. If you are using a power supply with a modded 3.3v line, decrease the voltage to the minimum it will go to, to reduce risk of damage. You can either use a 3.3v connection from a spare power connector, or find the 3.3v supply on the graphics card itself.

i tried to repair it one more time.. just can't do it
but something strange happened :stick:
it worked....
i didnt see any bad screen. it was perfect....
windows started.
first i run the dxdiag.. but then my card didn't work...
now it isnt working. i mean it is working but i cant understand anything on the screen.
@persivore
i checked the mem voltage. it was 3.11v
i made mods... mem voltage went to 3.44v
But nothing changed.. screen is same....
how can it be? def mem voltage is 3.3v i gived 3.4v but it didnt work

Trying to run the card with damage like that is VERY likely to kill the card outright IMO. Memory is very sensitive to VDDQ overvoltage, god knows what would happen without any at all.. probably not good either.
Very silly to try and use it with the damage.
Persivores idea to replicate VDDQ with another regulated voltage is how I would attempt a fix, but you need to know what chips they are.
You also need to clean up the damage so that there are no shorts or anything.

i already cleaned up the damaged area...
i know it is silly but..... i want to repair it... becouse it is hard to me to aford a new graphic card...
So which chips should we have to know?

why on earth did you try and Vmod a 8500? surely the extra volts cant give let you clock that much higher.. Can't you just buy another 1 ? or ask for some1 to donate a card to you..?
8500... aren't they like £20 ?
cmanisali2001

ok. that was my first vmod experience...
i don't want to repair it any more.....

The exact numbers on the memory chips themselves should tell us what VDDQ needs to be.
Once we know that we can try and find a way of creating that voltage and feed it to the memory (through the traces left on the board hopefully)

It will be good practice (and no offence, but you look like you need it)
Dont give up just yet, this may be an easy(ish) fix.

yes it will also be a good practice for me...
Here is the mem's picture.

Seriously I've had better cards then 8500 lying around as junk, unfortunately I usually build my spares into systems, if I had a videocard I'd send you one no problem, and I'm sure if you asked nicely someone would send you a replacement. I'm sure most of us have old Geforce 2,3,4,5 lying around someone help this guy out! I actually admire that your even trying to overclock / repair that thing, when most people on the other side of the planet would easily just discard it as junk.

Thanks a lot but i can't take your videocards.
it doesn't matter if my 8500 can't been repaired.
i have a voodoo banshee (Now i am using it)
i will buy a new video card in a few mounths probably(GeForce 6200 Or GeForce mx400 Or maybe 8500)
Thanks again to every one

Guys i am bored.... a wana do something...
İ think Trying to repair my 8500 would be the best Thing to do.... And Best way to practise Soldering.....
So lets start again....
i searched from hynix website.....
VDD voltage = 3.3v
VDDQ voltage = 2.5v
And a Datasheet (http://www.hynix.com/datasheet/pdf/dram/HY5DV641622AT(Rev0.7).pdf) :fact:
İ KNOW WE COULD RUN THİS THİNG SOMEHOW :fact:

o god
maybe i damaged my card????
i checked vddq and vdd.
vddq was 2.47v
vdd was 3.11v
but card wasnt working.... Screen was White.... Only White...
But somethimes i could see something else... like Win logos.....
ok ok it doesnt mater.... i am going to buy a 6200 in a few days
