thanks for that:

would a 1700 or a 1800 be better? Given that ther is £10 difference in price, what would give the better clock?

I would buy the 1800+. I'm not sure how much £10 is, lol, but it doesn't sound like alot...and your oc _could_ be a bit higher w/ that chip as some folks are getting killer OC's w/ the 1800+'s. If only the 1700+ is avail, it is still a great OC'n chip! :)

According to the site, the 1700 gets in on the 11th, the 1800 on the 20th.

I might get a 1700 and just see what 2.2v will do to it, £40 for a chip that might do 2ghz, its all good :D

btw - £10 is about $15 US give or take

At the end of the day its only a stop gap until the faster ones drop a little in price, and by the time I sell my xp2k, will cos be bugger all.

I've sent 2 "gifts" so far and I just ordered another "gift" for someone in the UK yesterday. ;)

If you want one, let me know. I charge nothing extra you just have to pay for the chip, PayPal fees, and shipping(which is $4 for Air Mail).

I'm fairly sure import duty on "gifts" is $0 :)

I just sent a waterblock to morphling1 in Slovenia as a "gift". You could PM him to ask if there were any duties ;)

BINGO! :D

And I'll include a little letter that says "Hey Bro, I just thought I'd surprise you with this little present. Take care and Mom says she loves you. Merry Christmas!" ;) Just in case customs does check.
