My True Control doesn't seem to cut it anymore.
Specs:
mobile A64 3000+ CAACZ 0501
DFI LP 250gb
Radeon 9800 non pro
512MB Hyper X 3000
512MB Mushkin PC3200 Level One
RAM at 240 with 3.2v
1x Raptor 36GB
1x 250GB Hitatchi SATA HDD
1x 20GB
2x Optical drives
I was able to get my mobile up to 2.61 with 1.845v (highest temp is 53-55C), but the cpu voltage had a pretty massive drop on it, around 0.7v, which immediately gave a math error in prime. It happened a couple of times. I haven't seen it do that when at 2.4 with 1.586v (highest temp is ~44C). It can pass pretty much everything else, just not prime. When I try to oc my video card to it's max which is 405/330.75 when the cpu is at 2.4, at 2.6 it gives artifacts and has to be lowered to 391.5/324.
So, do you guys think the PSU could be the problem?

Have you heat sinked all the mosfets? That should help with voltage droop.
EDIT: My bad, I see you're on NF3 Lanparty, not NF2. The NF3s come heat sinked stock. Anyone else have any suggestions?

DFI NF4's come heatsinked stock, not the NF3.

None of the mosfets are warm when I do the finger test. Not even if i touch it with the the more sensitive side of my finger.
Well, it seems my ram can't do 241.667 in windows (memtest is ok), but I still need 1.82v to pass occt. I could pass 32m super pi though so it that's kinda wierd.

Thats a hell of a lot of voltage i wouldn't recommend it if you are using air cooling.

the dfi is dropping very large try to fix it little bit with an other bios its still a big idle/load difference many ppl said that thats why the nforce4 DFI S939 has rockstable voltages! 1,6 is EVERYTIME idle/load 1,6 on nforce4

hijack: I'm using an ocz 520w powerstream an i seem to be experiencing some rather big voltage fluctuations (.4ish on vcore, .2 on vdimm) under load. is this normal or do i possibly have a bad psu? could sinking my mofsets help with this?

i think you should use as less %+voltage try setting the highest 1,55 and add percentages. or 1,5
that gained me some stability

pretty massive drop on it, around 0.7v
WTF?

My buddy has that power supply w/ more stuff than you have in it w/ a 6800gt and he has noproblems getting is 3200+ to 2.8 for 24/7.
Maybe this will help. Try to get a multimeter and plug them into the molex plugs to see what your 5v and 12v's are at.
I have the OCZ 600w and the never budge no matter what i do from 12.25 and 5.12 @ stock POT settings.

I just ordered some watercooling parts, with a TDX block, so I don't have to listen to the loud ass tornado anymore. I was going to get an XP120 but I said :banana::banana::banana: that. :D

I did that a while ago. 3.3v from the 20pin mobo connector and 5/12v from the video card.
3.3v@3.38v
5v@5.08v
12v@12.2v
I think putting all 3 HDD's and video card wasn't a good idea and after I put the radeon on a cable with just an optical drive as the 5v on that line was at 4.99v. It all seems to be back to normal after the cable management.

setting the % lower helped stablize my vcore, thanks for the tip.

this does not belong in xtreme overclocking but in the general hardware section, please post in the right sections next time. if you dont know in what section you should post a topic then pm any of the XtremeSystems mods and we will help you :)
