Well I brazed my system finally together with no leaks, it holds a vaccum. So i started to charge it with cans of r134a (8oz each), the ones made for cars, im using a kit used to fill car a/cs, i added one can in the fill port of my embraco 1/5hp compressor, and the line coming into the compressor is all frozen solid. I turn on the compressor so that it sucks in the rest of the refrigerant left in the can. It finishes and I feel the tube going to the condenser and the condenser i can hardly tell a temperature difference from the rest of the system. The temperature outside was about 45-50F, I measured the pressure and it is about 100psi on the high side and negative something on the low side on the fill port(i can't tell what the negative is since i have an auto kit with one gauge that goes 0-500psi).

Should i add more refrigerant or is my cap tube clogged (the cap tube maybe clogged, because of when i brazed the evap together.

Did you test teh evap for flow before you attached it to the system? and a wole can is probably wat too much refrigerant I use about 5 to 9 OZ in my systems.

Man that sucks to hear! FWIW, I used .031 cap tube on both of the evaps I made and neither one got blocked. Thats pretty good since I consider myself a novice brazer. It seems like the larger cap tube must be much more forgiving. Might be worth looking into to save some headaches. At any rate, I hope youre up and running soon :) Oh yeah PICS!! :D

I have blocked some cap tubes wiht exessive brazing alloy. I have even blocked one evap with silver while trying to braze stainles steel hose to it! You can think how pleased I was after 2 hard days with dremel and drill to make that block...
