I was looking to go all out and was looking at the Mach II's and Vapo's and saw this cooler over at this site and was wondering if its a good price and most of all is it a good unit?

http://www.teampuss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=668

Also is it something I can run at home or do I need a special power output added and or a special licence to run it becasue of the gases?

that is a cascade built by runmc, he is one of the BEST cascade builders
so yes that is well worth the money

BUT.... i wouldnt buy it unless you have knowledge of phase change, because things like that are bound to break or need some tuning

but u can run it on regular wall outlets and dont need a liscense

So I guess this would be the best route to go to start out?
http://www.vapochill.com/main/page.asp?sideid=465

And work my way into the hardcore stuff? :D

you are going to pay about the same price for that, as either buying the cascade, or buy the tools and parts and building your own starting like the vapochill single stage and work your way into cascade.

buy a mach1 or a cheaper unit and have it get tuned and upgraded..

good for a newbie phase changer.

Yeah, But look
Mach II GT
maybe -50c evap at 160w
http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-con-13.html

The cascade is now $800 so its cheaper than the Mach II. It has temps almost double that and and can be used with any chipset and gpu withno extra parts needed to buy like CPU kits. :)

This will be to bench and test with so I don't need all that fancy stuff I just don't want to kill myself, lol.

Now that is what I'm talking about! I wonder what the deminsions are on that baby?

I want a dual cascade that would fit the dimensions of the Prommies...might have to "stack" the compressors?

your not going ot get a cascade to be the same size as a prommie. just not possible.. if you wanted the same floor size it could be done but it would be really tall and if you put a case on top if it, it would havea good chance of falling over.

the thing is ull spend almost as much on a new vapo ls then that cascade

if those are your options i suggest you buy the cascade and then just talk to runmc a bunch before using it, to get to know how it works and what u need to do to run it properly

You might need better lines, depending on what you are already running. I have a 45 amp line and 20 amp line powering my computers and I have no problems running even 4 compressors and and 3 computers at once (I was able to reset the 20 amp one by running 3 compressors and 2 computers, but that was before I ran the new 45 amp line and I haven't had any problems sence). I belive OPB was able to reset a 15 amp line by running a computer and 3 compressors on it. You don't need any license to run or build a phase change system. You only need one to buy gasses.

Cascades are not 24/7 things though, you really can't run it daily.

PM Chilly1 and PC Ice for prices on their single stage units. They both build great units and you will find it much cheaper then a vapo/prommie and they are much better. Better as in colder.

Because when oil in the system gets too cold it clogs the evaporator up and the system doesn't function properly. I've heard even the best oil seps would let the evap clog after a few days of strait running. Not to mention the power costs and all.

Tall is fine. Let me worry it whether it will fall over or not. :)

Never say never...

I've got a few tecumseh horizontal rotary compressors here, they may be low eneough to fit into a machI case and leave room for the hx/oilsep/slhx's...

I put an add in the wanted section awhile ago for a prommy case but havent had any luck :(

HG - 1st gen - Lowtemp (-10F) normal torgue - 1000BTU/hr - R404A/507 - 115V 60/50

They make pretty much all the same HGs as the AE, AG, AH, etc.

How did you come up with that from the model # ??

from model number Nomenclature:each position of a letter, group of letters, number and group of numbers are a code giving compressor information. The usually follow this order: compressor family, generation, application, btu capicity, refrigerant, voltage and condensing units. this is all coded into model number, The only problem is that different manufactures use different nomenclature.
