I'm having problems using the multiplier of ddr600 in this board , i've got a pair of OCZ PC4200EB Rev2, my cpu is a 640 and it is stable at 41xxmhz maybe a little more, the problem is that i can't pass 245FSB with ddr600 multiplier, can anyone help me?please :(

try the brand new 1.4 bios ;)

already used it and it didn't work for my problem...
is there a solution?

1. Fixed minor wording issue when CPU with 2M L2 cache is installed.
2. Change the adjustable FSB range to 500MHz.
3. Change the default setting of "Execute Disable Bit" to "Disable".
4. Add "C1E Function" control item.
5. Fixed the issue that system may hang when SATA port 4 in used.
6. BIOS compiled date: 03/23/2005

what's the C1E function?

I haven´t tested the highest memory multiplier with overclock because my mems suck :P at default works great...

Found this at toms hardware about C1E...

The Enhanced Halt Mode C1E includes the following changes:

* The VRM specification was upgraded from 9.0 to 10.1.
* The PROCHOT (Processor Hot) signal is used to have the CPU reduce the core clock to 2.8 GHz. This is triggered by the idle task, and also causes the core voltage to drop from 1.4 V to 1.2 V.

Using C1E requires a motherboard running a suitable BIOS version, and an operating system supporting the feature. In the case of Windows XP this means SP2 is needed.

Due to the clock speed and core voltage changes, the C1E mode is much more efficient the older halt mode. We measured as little as 16.5 W minimum power required in idle mode, which makes the whole P4 Prescott family for Socket 775 far more attractive than ever before.

The C1E feature will be available for all Socket 775 Pentium 4 processors. However, be sure to check the SL-SPEC number on the processor box before buying. We put together a short list in this article; please check the corresponding page for details.

what settings are you using?
i´m not @ home and this pc doenst have msn (mandrake;))

Just got my Mushkin memory... managed to get 6:3 up to 255FSB so far(resulting in 764 memory clock) , will test further, try maximizing you dram and 1.75v nb voltage.

Never use 3:4 or 2:3 dividers with DDR2 if you can do 1:1 at 3-2-2-x. Even at the same FSB and same 3-2-2 timings, 3:4 will only have a very marginal gain over 1:1. But chances are, you won't be able to do DDR2-800 at 3-2-2-x timings (without the right Micron based ram and voltmods). And DDR2-800 is achieved via 3:4 with 300mhz FSB. MOST if not all prescotts can do 4200mhz (300 x 14multi) or close there with good air cooling at least. THUS, unless you can do DDR2-800 at 3-2-2-x timings, OR you simply can't unlock the cpu multi (or any other reason that you can't get a decent high FSB)....1:1 is the way to go.

just one correction...it was with 2:3... :D
there isn't any 6:3 divider. :p:

how do u change the multi on a 640 cpu so its at 14x in bios and also in windows....
i ave a asus p5ad2-e and i can only get benefits of the 14x multi in windows, so if i try and boot 300x14 my system wnt boot cos bios is clockin it as 16x300 :(

if you have the latest bios, 1004, on the CPU Settings you have one Option called "Intel SpeedStep Technology".
Just select "Minimum Speed" and 14x multi will become efective on bios.
That works with me! :D

ive done that, but the bios, altho shows its usin 14x multi, the clocks still represent a 16x multi... e.g 16x250 = 4ghz in bios then when i load windows clocks go down 2 3.5ghz and stay at 3.5ghz.

It's a bug, don't worry with that.
In my 640, when I am on default, 200fsb, with 16x it shows 3.2GHz and with 14x it shows 2.8GHz at all time.
but when you start overclocking, there is a bug that shows you the speed with 16x, despite you are with 14x.
But effectively, you are using 14x all the time.

There is also that bug on Memtest, that shows you incorrect speeds almost all the time.

ocz ram runs great, but the fatal1ty didn't do the same!
with the new bios I can't run fsb 300 to 313!
with the old one (1.3), I can run it till 313 mhz (but not stable, :dammit: board)!
my opinion is that the fatal1ty isn't as great as it is presented.....

asus p5ad2-e, atm im avin trouble clockin my 640 cpu, i cnt seem 2 even boot into windows at 4.2 (263x16) the only overclock im stable at is 250x16 = 4ghz with only 1.425v. ive even used up2 1.55v to try and get 4.2ghz into windows but still no luck, cnt help but think its sumthing else holdin me back?? :(

im usin watercoolin and temps are around 33-35c idle. there are alot of settings in the bios which im totally n00b to, can any1 give me any advice to y they think my cpu cant go any higher?

only thing i can think of atm is my psu (tagan 480watt) so ive orderd a pcp&c 510 SLi, that should be with me in a weeks time.

yes i kno u told me mate, but the bios still thinks it is a 16x so my board wnt boot with high fsb, there is no point me runnin 14x if i cant whack my fsb up, ideally i would like 300x14 = 4.2 but unless asus brings out a bios 2 sort out the bug then its a no go :(

highest i can do is 275 and my bios thinks its at 4.4 so i really need 2 up my voltage for it 2 even post
