How should i line up my RAM on a Abit AA8XE?

It has 4 slots so should i put the 2 512 sticks into 1 of the 2 dual slots or into slot one of each?

Like this?

Put one stick in slot 1 (the slot closest to your cpu), the other in slot 3, arent your ram slots color coded?

Different mobo makers use different color schemes. Also, they sometimes don't stick to the color schemes. I have a few mobos that are the exact same revision, model and everything but some of them use all blue slots, some all black, some blue and black to indicate the channels.

On the subject of inconsistancy, those mobos also have 2 different colors (White and tan) of PCI slots between different mobos. There are also 3 different socket types, one with a plastic lever, one with a metal lever that is further away from the socket and hard to unhook and one with a metal level that is close to the socket and easy to unhook.

This is from 5 different mobos that were all purchased within 6 months of each other.
