What should the fan speed be for a 550W Antec PSU?

I've just bought this PSU and I've smelt behind it and it seems pretty hot. However, the fan is only spinning at 1,000rpm. My Antec 480W's fan used to spin at almost 1800.....

Is this right?

PS: Fan is plugged into the PSU monitoring connector on my NF7-S.

Your ambient temp inside your case maybe is too high, which gives me the reason why your psu is running a tad hotter and besides the psu's fan would spin up if you put a lot of load to it. If you dont smell anything burning. I say it's all good...... :D
