Well i was lookinbg around on the web and I came across the website of transmeta.

For the people who don't know transmeta, transmeta is a CPU manufacturer with a LOT of talent and it has loads of potential. They mainly design CPU's that are power efficient and run at as low as 7WATTs, yea I typed it right, 7 watts  :eek2:

Thats almost nothing and could even be passivly cooled. A HDD uses less watts!

Now i'm looking around and trying to get more info on how their CPUs perform and if they are compliant with Windows XP or games. I know they'll run Linux but for games I normally use Win XP pro so ....

How do they perform? Also, as i'm looking into a laptop, how do the laptops equipped with transmeta CPU's perform? anyone got any idea?

i doubt any cpu that only uses 7watts could rival todays high end chips in games.

The Dothan only hits 21 watts

but will it equal the performance of an AMD Fx-57 or even 55 for that matter?
