I've got a g3 pro and a Ati radeon 8500, So my vote is not coming from any experience with any of the options above, but I had to vote for the 9700. I've really liked my radeon so far, it has been a great performer. Plus the fact that the 9700 is kicking butt on 3dmark right now, just shows that it is the current leader in performance. If I'm coming off of any of my hard earned dollars for a vid card in my own system, then I would have to go all out and insure that the card I purchase is going to handle anythig I throw at it for quite a while. Kinda like buying a car, I'm not going to skimp and get a car without a/c and a radio and then decide I want those options after the purchase. It cost twice as much more to get them later. Ok, so that's not a very good example, but you get my drift;):D

well right now id say a 9500 for me. it looks good, and i think it would beat the GF4 cards. But im not sure yet..
If its an exact 9700 pro just clocked lower, then it sounds like a great deal. the 9700 pro is around 340 or so and ive seen 2 places that have the 9500 for 199.00 hopeing that the drivers wont suck..

I forgot where i saw this (i think it's anandtech?) they had test the card in final version with the latest driver and it seems to be an excellent card at this price tag and the driver seems to also be good ones. ATI has made a lot of effort in producing good drivers for their card

I'll probably buy a Radeon 9700 non PRO card.
Even if it hasn't got the supplementary connector to the PSU, I expect a GREAT overclock from it. At least to the level of its bigger sister Radeon 9700PRO! :D ;)
