Do you get rounded ide cables with the 8RDA+?? And is the chipset heatsink hot?? Whitout a fan??
Galifrey

no and dunno...
I run a fan on mine...
When I run at 200fsb the whole system goes laggy and nasty...
Even at lower cpu overall speeds....
Gives some nice mem benches, but no good for running day to day so far...

so you reckon there is so problem with your PCI latencies ? You can try and adjust the AGP clock a bit higher and this will push PCI speeds up as well *AFAIK* otherwise i dunno what could be wrong ... unless you put spread spectrum on ?

well apparently the pci is run from the southbridge and the agp from the northbridge...
Alledgedlly this may well force the pci into 33mhz no matter what...
I dunno, I cannot tell whats going on...
Tell ya 1 thing, I just reached in ( open case ) and touched my heatsink on the NB....... it's fooking pretty warm, and I'm running stock right now ( wtf is that fedex guy!!!!!!!!!!)... waiting on my ram. Looks like a nb hs mod......:D

yeah but there is no southbridge on the Nforce2 (i think thats right :) ) so both are controlled by the PLL that is integrated in the NB.. Check AOA forums cause i am sure someone had a spectrum analyzer plugged in to the pll output to measure the frequencies...
Otherwise it sounds like some legacy feature is switched on... perhaps caching of the gfx memory or something ? Hmm this is indeed puzzling ...
BTW you tried plugging your mousie in the PS/2 socket mate... My USB was strangely slow when i was running at 186Fsb on my PIII but it was all fine when i put it to ps/2...
Hope that helps ! :toast:

The southbridge on the nf2 is the MCP-T, it has a sepearte clock generator to the crush 18D northbridge :D

details there, speculation tho I believe...
Only 2 fans in my case..... psu and radiator.......... Looks like there may be 1 added........ on a NEW sink!!!!

gutted :(
This is the question, which is the last point in which I'm still unsure!
Are the high multipliers available or not?
Galifrey
12-03-2002, 01:40 PM
on mine yes with a locked chip I have all mults available
I went through alot of the multis Galif........... what have you actually seen change the multi higher? I'm not seeing jack bro. I can use them, but they go back to 5 and so on..... like the table at beachlink.

have you set the cpu mode to aggressive? if you have it on optimal it doesnt seem to work, uses the 5's and 7's etc...
if you look at page 1 you can see I am using 16x166...
at present I am at 15x170, as its more stable..
Yes aggressive..... I'll try again later.
Thx.
