Hej.
I was doing an article for a czech site using a trusted platform module board, and used a 530J processor. What surprised me was the BAD performance at stock! P4 530J 3,0ghz and DDR2-533 4-4-4-11 was running SuperPi 1M at 56s. I though something was shaky, so set the RAM to DDR2-400 3-3-3-8, and yet again, we're up on 56s. My 3000+ @1,8ghz scores under 40. 56s seems too bloody much. I know everything was under Single Channel, but still.
I received my P4 530 @ 4100mhz 1,425Vcore a few days ago, I'll run that onb my DFI when I get my cheap X600XT.
Still surprising, 56s is TOO much!

Why do you have to go for an inferior product when you are already running something better. 530J is a good CPu, but I will get an A64 3000+ over it anytime. Run dual channel and let us see what happen.

Nope, all installed. Perhaps that the onboard VGA is eating away at the RAM bandwith? Check the link to see the other test results.
The reason why I did so was because my father needed a PC, and the company would only sanction a P4, as a certain product demanded 3000mhz :(

Yeah, and DDR2 at 3-2-2 (or maybe even 3-3-3) will match it if not better.

I think I may have found the culprit.

Yes thats the -5v line, They are missing on all 24pin PSU's as it's not required anymore..

Ah, that explains it. But my OCZ 520W still has it  Guess its because it's a 20/24pin PSU.

You really want one more RAM stick in there... It'll boost you 10 seconds maybe.

Onboard vga kills you, certainly if you only have singe-channel.
I allso have a mobo with onboard video and it kills you, with a PCI or AGP card you get a few secconds of your time atleast.

where did you get BGA system memory? LOL.... DDR2 are BGA... You are an AMD under the rock;):D.
And Dual channel is VERY important.... Especially for DDR2.... High your speed, more critical is the Dual Channel.... Thats on eof the advantages of DC.... one more = two more;).
