Just out of curiosity, I decided to benchmark a 128Mb stick of HP PC2700 Ram against one 256Mb stick of my Samsung PC3200 Ram.

The weird thing is that even with identical settings, the 128Mb stick seems to outperform the PC3200. In Sandra I get a bandwith of 1814 with PC3200. With the 128Mb stick I get 2024!!!

Also my 3DMark score goes down with the PC3200 Ram. I tried them both at DDR333 with identical settings (CAS etc) and the 128Mb stick still wins.

WHY?!?!?

Is there an issue with PC3200 RAM or are there any settings that I specifically need to change. I am using BIOS CS.

Also what does the disable unused DIMM/PCI do?

Thanks

sure you are using the same settings? if u have ur BIOS set to use SPD then it could be using different settings for each stick. Force 2-2-2 5 1T on both sticks and see if that fixes it. you could also have crappy samsung, who made the stick (not the chips)?
