Hi.

I have Asus P4C800-e DLX 3.2D0 pressy that can do about 260 for 24/7 usaged. I bought Winbond UTT (twinmos SP) but they dont perform well on this mobo (they worked OK on Abit ic7 max3!) so I'm looking for some new memory to buy.

It should be able to run at 260 2-2-2-5 (voltage is no limit, since my board is vdimm modded).

BH5, BH6, CH6, TCCD? I'm a bit confused here, sorry :)

TCCD will not do 2-2-2-5 at 260MHz unless you get some of the stuff that likes high voltage and you put 3.4V through it. Generally, TCCD does not deal well with high voltage so I would scratch that off the list. (Some people have been lucky enough to get TCCD that will improve with higher voltage, but it gets much hotter than, say, BH-5 at the same voltage.)

If you just want 2x256 then some BH-5 or BH-6 would be an excellent choice. (I'm assuming you have the capacity to run it at 3.3V+, which BH-5/6 loves).

CH-6 is pretty crappy when it comes to overclocking, which is why no one here uses it. :)

Another possible solution that would save you buying new RAM is to switch motherboards so you can use your UTT (P4C800-e Deluxe for IC7 Max3). I don't know your situation, but if it's possible and not too much of a hassle it might be worth it.

So is TCCD the way to go if you're getting 2x512?

It depends on what you need. If you want high FSB/HTT then going for TCCD would be a better choice. But if you would rather a lower FSB/HTT but with the tighter timings then BH-5 or UTT would be better. OCZ VX which is UTT can do pretty good clocks and is a 2x512MB DC kit. Also some BH-5 will do high clocks with 2x512MB. It's just more common to see better results with 2x256MB, this goes for BH-5 or TCCD. But in general you see a lot of high clocks with 2x512MB TCCD.

I have a similar problem, don`t know what to choose. What would be the best sticks for Abit NF7 2.0 with 2x 512 MB with tight timings and FSB over 240 (stable in memtest and windows). Cause some guys are saying that on an NF2 board the memory gets unstable in windows. I want 240+ 2,2,2,x with voltage up to max 3.4v.

I just went with 2x512mb OCZ 4800. If i have trouble at least I'll know its my mobo and not maybe the mobo or ram

I'm looking for 2x512.

What about 2x512 BH5 ? I know it's hard to get, but i'll keep my eye on ebay then ...

The reason why I changed mobos is VTT, I should just mod the IC7 too much to get it working like asus...

So basicly if I want hight mhz and low timings only BH5 are good enough?

If I choose normal PC4xxx, which should I go for?

b|lly ,

Twinmos just released pc3500 with BH-5 chips. Possibly not yet available in the states. I think they're called Speed Premium.
OCZ also came out with pc3200 2-2-2 Gold (NOT VX) , also with BH-5 chips.

No need to pay big money on Ebay for it when you can have them new and cheap (twinmos at least , dunno for OCZ gold)

I'll try to get this twinmos BH5 and see how they perform...if TEDY will lend me some ;)

What do you think about GEIL ULTRA PLATINUM PC3200? They are suppose to be CH-5 chips. Do they have any high OC potential?
