I have 2 x 256Mb Samsung PC3200 sticks of RAM.

They currently sit in the two nearest slots to the CPU, but I have read in some postst that it is more beneficial to have them in various combinations of slot.

Is there a hard and fast rule? and is what is most beneficial for overclocking?

Thanks guys!

You really need to test them in each setup. Some have developed theories w/ certain boards, but they don't always apply to each individual :)

With KT266/kt266a/kt333 and presumably kt400 boards, there is one voltage regulator for each pair of DIMM slots. So slots 1/2 share one and slots 3/4 share one, at least on Abit boards. So if you have two sticks, you should get maximum overclockability by putting them in slots 1 & 3 or slots 2 & 4.
