View Full Version : Question about overclocking a PCI bus

now alot of problems with overclocking with high FSB is the PCI goes out of spec now lets say im having trouble and my system is not stable at a high FSB and the PCI bus is causing my system to crash and have problem if i take out all my PCI cards so the PCI bus is not used will my problem be fixed?

yeah, your hard drives run off the pci bus. i believe your usb and ps2 ports do as well.

newer intel boards and some nforce2 boards allow you to lock the pci bus into spec.

Some drives are better than others. But, long term hi-PCI bus speed can wear down the drive earlier. If you stay around 40-42 mhz bus speed you should get reliable service; definitely if you are below 40 mhz.
