View Full Version : 2 Bad Sets of OCZ VX?!?!
Sucka

What are the odds of me getting 2 bad sets of Gold VX, one a PC-3200 kit and one a PC-4000 kit? Both get errors at 2-2-2-6 @ 200 with 3.2v (even tried higher). Is this normal for these sticks at first? I can't even burn them in because they error at the OCZ suggested test settings. I'm testing them on both my AMD and Intel setup, and on both they error like crazy. This is very frustrating, and quite honestly i want my money back rather than RMA both sets. What could be the problem? Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

Highly unlikely that you have bad ram, don't know what all you have tried but I'm sure it is more likely bios settings your overlooking and/or the Dimm's your using.
Have you tried to test one stick at a time in all the different Dimm's ?

What is there to set. Timings are 2-2-2-*, memory is put in DC, volts are pushed to 3.2+, CPU is clocked well within its limits to rule out CPU, what more would i need to set in the BIOS to run these sticks? Like i said, open to all suggestions, although i do know what i'm doing here. And sure i could test them in each DIMM one at a time, but that really won't help me any, i want DC. If one is bad, they are both worthless to me.

But if one works that would eliminate the possibility of there being something wrong with another component of your computer

Latest BIOS ?
Didn't change any of the advanced memory controller settings when using the G.Skill ?

Like i said, i'll test each of them, but that doesn't change the fact they don't work properly on 3 of my computers. :stick: I am just wondering the odds of that. More or less looking for some OCZ guys to chime in.

I have some ideas ... will pm
I think it has something to do with your memory timings. You need to loosen some of them.
