i got 2 stix 256mb g.skill la from newegg a couple days ago, the package has sticker that says "ddr 600 2.5-4-4-8" which is different from the info online(3-5-5-13).
it is labelled "samsung 440" and runs @ 2.5-4-4-8 up to 325mhz dual channel which is where my cpu craps out (9nda3+ multis down to only 8x)here is a cpuid validation @ that speed http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=7996 . the epox also only goes to 2.77 vdimm.

i have run other ram (2x512 pqi turbo) that runs at 1t over 300mhz on this setup. but the g.skill only runs up to 290mhz at 1t. even if i have 2t disabled in the bios, if i try to boot higher than 290mhx it will be 2t. the only way around this is to boot at 290mhz and use clockgen to bump it up to around 310mhz, this way it stays at 1t. machine freezes over 9x310mhz.

can anyone help me out with this it problem? are there any mod to lower multis on this mainboard? i think i could break 10k sandra if i could get a 7x multi. thanks for help.

lowest multi on epox nf3 boards is 8x. so i was wondering if there was a mod or something i could do to get lower multis. i had the dfi ut nf3 but upgraded to s939 and nf3 ultra because i bought a leadtek 6800gt agp in november, rma'd it in december and just got it back a few weeks ago. so before i get a nf4 board(probably the dfi) i have to sell vid card. i just added 2x 300gb maxtor maxline 3 sata drives w/16mb cache and ncq, a hauppage pvr 150, and wireless gear for my pc's so its hard to justify another 6800gt/pcie to the old lady right now. i will be buying an "e" stepping winny next week though.
aside from the 1t problem(which could be a mainboard issue) the ram is great. runs cas 2.5 up to 340mhz(dual channel) so far but 8x340 is about it for my cpu. runs at 2-2-2-6 up to 250mhz, then 2-3-3-6 up to around 290, then 2.5-3-3-8 up to 325, 2.5-4-4-8 to 340. havent had to go to cas 3 yet. if i could use a 7x multi i could try for 350 2.5-4-4-8 which should get me a 10k + sandra memory score.

With the newest epox bios updates dated 2/15/05 you can go down to 5x multi.

Just a heads up.

the latest bios for my board is 2/05/05, and while the bios shows the multis going down to 4, it doesnt go any lower than 8 no matter what you set.
