Im looking for tight timings on my 875 chipset. Is it possible with todays RAM offerings? I need a GB at least, and I want the RAM to do tight timings at 236FSB, but be able to do up to 250FSB(not neccessarily with tight timings). I have up to 3.2 available on the vdimm, so I can crank the voltage a little bit if needed. Some peeps over at OCForums recommend Ballistix. Any other stuff out there that will haul on an Intel platform? This TCCD just isnt cutting it.

TIA

you'll need to VTT mod that max3 to make 3.2vdimm work properly. the best ram would be BH5 but CH5/UTT is fine aswell.

I plan to VTT mod it if I have to. If I can find a link to the Madcat instructions that isnt dead...UTT are the chips used in OCZ VX right? If so I thought that they arent Intel friendly.

Thanks

UTT and CH5 dont run dividers right on intel. thats the only thing, and why BH5 is better. while your Vmoding your max3, do the VDD and VAGP mods aswell. they help alot. on my IC7 i did a 5v vdimm mosfet source mod. it works great! no need to have a high 3.3v rail. ive tested vdimm all the way up to 4.5v on my CH5.

I dont care about dividers so much. I have a 3.4, so its not going to run a high FSB. 250 would be pretty fast @4.25GHz. I figure once I get this chip on phase change it MAY run that fast. The mosfet source mod is new to me. I'll have to do a search on that one. :)

Thanks

its the best mod ive done to my IC7 ;)
no vdimm droop at all and i can tell the voltages are way more stable!

edit: lol forgot the link (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39116)

i happend to find it in my favorites ;) :toast:

Dang dude. Thats hardcore. I doubt Ill be going that far with my mods. I just want to hit 2-2-2-x@236 LOL. Anything else is gravy. The VTT mod is within my realm as a n00b at soldering. Ill try that first :D BTW, do you happen to have a working Madcat VTT instruction link in your favorites?

no i was never interested in the madcat vtt fix as iirc it doesnt work properly past 3.2v so its only ment to fix a "stock" max3 with bios settings to 3.2v only. once you vmod for past 3.2v it wont work if i understood it correctly. i remember it to be posted on the Abit-usa forum. i think a google will make it pop up. 3.2v with working VTT should bring most UTT/CH5/BH5 to 236mhz 2-2-2. i thought that mod was hardcore aswell but in the end u just think FK it and crave for more. its a sickness. :toast:
