I want to get some Ram that runs with 300Fsb but the prob is that i can´t go higher than 2,85v with my Neo2.. so is there any Ram that supports this with 2,85v or can i just use the OCZ Booster and what ram should i pick than if i buy my the OCZ Booster to achiev 300Fsb (i wanna get my winnie to 2,7ghz 1:1).
thnx and regards BLa$nA

you need the GSKILL PC4800 LA, it will hit 300+ @2.5-4-3-7. on your Neo2 Platinum 2.7~2.8v should do it.

is there an alternative to Gskill.. because Gskill is extreme expensive over here.. or is Gskill the only solution?

What is the difference between G.Skill LA, LC, LD, and LE memory...?

Zedex
03-21-2005, 06:45 AM
LA is rated 2.5-3-3-7 1T 300MHz for 2x256MB and 2T for 2x512MB
LE is rated for 2.5-3-3-7 1T 275MHz for both 2x256MB and 2x512MB
LC I think is rated for 2.5-4-4-8 275MHz 1T for both 2x256MB and 2x512MB
and I'm not sure about LD I didn't know there was an LD :P

Edit: I had a look around and to be honest I couldn't really see any TCCD that was at a low price in europe. I think you may just get a bit cheaper than GSKILL but the majority of RAM over here is usually quite pricey no matter what brand you go for. Unless there's some value RAM sold with TCCD somewhere for cheap then I can't see many options for you.

There was one store selling some OCZ VX for cheap with a DDR Booster thrown in also. Was pretty cheap for europe maybe they might do some TCCD for cheap too.

G.Skill seems to be the best bet for 300mhz but peeps are getting other TCCD on up there too.

http://www.oc-wear.de/pd-802635251.htm?categoryId=21 According the the "New RAM list" This is TCCD with Brainpower PCB and not at a bad price. Would this fit into your budget?

which OCZ Modules got TCCD?

Zedex

EL DDR PC3200 Platinum Edition rev2 (2-2-2-5) --chip--> Samsung 4ns TCCD ~ Brainpower PCB and you'll probably be paying a lot for it.

If you're going for cheaper then what I linked you too is probably the one of the cheapest you'll find. But then again I'm not sure how well they perform in regards to GSkill, OCZ and some other RAM with TCCD.

A lot of people will recommend GSkill if you can afford it because they usually clock very well. Most GSkill will do over 300 1T 1:1 unless your memory controller is really poor. OCZ also has had some good results with their TCCD sticks.

Edit: Take a look on the "New RAM list" a sticking in this forum. It'll have a list of RAM with TCCD including the OCZ i just took from it.

LA is rated 2.5-3-3-7 1T 300MHz for 2x256MB and 2T for 2x512MB

2.5-4-4-8 you mean, right?

Zedex
03-21-2005, 07:42 AM
It'll run 2.5-3-3-7 fine 1T with 2x256MB and in some cases with 2x512MB 1T although it's rated for 2T for it. Looking up the specs on GSkill's webpage it's actually rated with 3-4-4-8 timings. 1T for 2x256MB and 2T for 2x512MB.

what about this 512MB PC3200/DDR400 CL2.0 DDR DIMM Twister Pro - TwinMOS mit Samsung TCCD Chips ?

Do you hate running a divider?, else you can try some Twinmos Speed Premium, it is cheap as hell and has the Winbond UTT chips on it.

DDR500 2-2-2-5 is doable at 3.3 or 3.4v in most cases, it costs like $165 us :D

i would better like 1:1 and i cant get so much Voltage under them, if i could give ~3,5 i could also use my Corsair i think..

I suppose they might do 300, but I haven't seen many results from this RAM.

Here is some TCCD doing 300+ in this thread.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53290&

There isn't a large amount of results in this thread at the moment, but a fair amount to give you an idea of a few that will do 300+.

You'll notice the Geil Ultra X I liniked you to there doing 304 (608DDR) listed there. Although this was 2x256MB only.

Be a good idea to do a search on the forums and look for TCCD results and make a note of the manufacturer of the RAM. Get a nice list up and then cross reference that with the "New RAM List" sticky, to see if you can find TCCD that'll clock well in your price range.

300MHz can do it any memory that use TCCD (440 for example) over Brainpower PCB.
If you want to go for the secure 300 MHz can get G. Skill LA, OCZ Platinum EL Rev 2 PC 3200 or new PC4800.

My Patriot use 440/PCB BP, and with 2.85V (max in Neo2) can reach 300 MHz at 2.5-4-3-7 (even 2.5-3-3-7 with 2x256MB stick).

My 2 X512 dual kit of OCZ PC3200EL Platinum rev2(Samsung TCCD) do 295MHz 2.5-3-3-5 2.6v

Best deal I've ever got on OCing ram :D

My last kit of high FSB mem. was Corsair TWINX PC4400(Hynix ) and they got a crappy 277MHz 3-4-4-8 OC and I paid super big bux for them too.

Bla$nA take a chace on these OCZ sticks you wont regret it. ;)
