I'm in my way to build up new rig. I'll buy 3,2Ghz P4 cpu with Core Stepping D1, but i need to know how many capacitors the chip possess, because of what i know the ones with 30 capacitors are the good ones :)

i dont think the D1 will have 30 caps. the 30 caps cpu's are the rejected EE with 3mb cash disabled. And it will be M0 stepping.

SL7RR 3.4? 30 caps but 2mb cach so i guess thease are the ones that 1/2the cash passed teasting
SL7BK 3.0C 30 caps
SL6Z5 2.8C 30 caps
SL6Z3 2.4C 30 caps
All M0 stepping

30 caps means theres 3mb cach on the chip. i got a SL6Z5 2.8c M0 1.85v 3875mhz 275fsb bet i could get more if vaphochilled lol

Anyways

30 caps means it has better voltage regulation, I have a d1 3.0c and it has 30 caps. You should go for a 3.2e youll get a better oc.

Yeah, the 30 caps means it was meant to be an EE, and for whatever reason it didn't become that. Not neccessarily because it was rejected. They could have had a need for more 3.0Cs than they had, and I dont know too many people with EEs.

I have an SL6WU, it is a D1, and it has 30 caps. I think the D1s are better than the M0s. I can do 250x15=3750 on air with it.

no, 30 caps doens necessarily mean M0. the D1's with the extra ground layers also have 30 caps. they are known as AEP's
