Is XP-120 worth upgrade from XP-90?

my 3000+ winny with the Thermalright XP-90 and 90mm Enermax 60CFM fan is running at 2.66Ghz @1.61v idle at 36C and full load at 52C, does it make much difference and is it worth it to spend $70 and upgrade to XP-120 + Panaflo 114CFM fan? how many degree drop can I expect from the XP-120?

Not very much, IMO it wouldn't be worth spending 70bucks

I have the 90mm Tornado fan as well, running this dang "hair-dryer" at full speed only drop 2C at full load, it's WAY too loud for a 24/7 machine, I have the fan controller too but it defeat the purpose of having high cfm fan so I'd scratched the tornado and fan controller setup and stick with the Enermax fan now, I hope 52C under load isn't too bad :stick:

i had an xp-90 on my p4 3.2 EE with the noisy tornado, swaped it for the xp-120 its quiter now and performs on par with the xp-90 on full ball with the tornado making a huge noise get it if you want quiter same performance but it wont be better performing just quiter

oh ok, in that case I'll just save the 70 bucks, I was expecting like atleast 5C dropped under load from the XP-120, looks like it's wishful thinking....haha. :p: :p:

Just run the XP90 with a 120mm fan if you are concerned about noise. Made a big difference on my box.

I prefer to upgrade to Water cooler than upgrade to xp-120 if i have xp-90 :)

Buy a 92mm to 120mm adapter. I got mine from Jab-tech.

aint worth it. in some cases the 90 does better than the 120

Yeah, going from XP-90 to 120 isn't really worth it, but going to Danger Den would :banana4:
