Hello,

been reading these forums alot and must say they have become my favorite. This is my first post of hopefully many here. :toast:
Well this is the max fsb i was able to get on my system:
-DFI lanparty ut
-AMD 754pin 3400+ NewCastle (cooled with hyper 6)
-256 mb BH-6 ram (kingston EXTREMEvalueram =)):banana4:

Well my top fsb (fully super pi stable, 3dmark stable) is 353 fsb is that record of any kind? Well the funny thing is that at 300fsb i would get the awful IDE RAID detecting crap...so i was like wth lets go for something crazy and bam FULLY stable post and win xp hehehe.

Ram was running 3.1v at 2-2-2-10 and at 247.5 mhz, so not bad.

Anyone know a good mod to get more volts to my ram, have a feeling it can go way up, already have the new BIOS and everything but it maxes out at 3.2?

Thanks

Well heres a pic:

You need to get a PSU with an adjustable pot or mod the one you have to increase the 3.3v rail.

There no need for a OCZ Booster the DFi boards can give upto 4v on the memory higher rated then the DDR Booster 3.9v. I have done 350MHz 1:1 on this board.

its a 754 lanparty i dont think you can use the 4v thing.
booster im not sure but i dont think it would work with the mobo

best thing for more volts on vdimm is a voltmod

TicTac has a beta 1-28 BIOS that has the 4.0 VDIMM.
You need to be able to adjust your 3.3 rail though I believe.

yeah, you just have to raise your 3.3v rail to something like 3.5v and you'll be able to use around ~3.3-3.4v Thats some nice clocks with the volts your giving that RAM

hm it's not that impressive!
here an easy example of my cpu:

and here ram 1:1, THAT'S the real difficulty! ram deviders suck! there's no problem of running high htt with lower ram!
so here try something like this:

thanks for the replies:
-i believe my PSU (lc power 550w-kinda rappy :P) does not have adjustable voltages saw a mod about joining the 5v rail to it though?

-yeah i would love to do 1:1 but dont believe that bh-6 can even go that high? plus i like the tight timings 2-2-2-10 :)

-yes i have tic-tacs bios already on the board but as i said the vdimm maxes out at ~3.2 volts.

the only problem i have with the board is the damn nvidia raid check thing that pops up randomly when i boot at any higher fsb's, i mean i dont even use raid anyway to get it to stop doing that!?

but highest 1:1 ive had on this board was 260 with the bh-6 at 2-2-2-10 (3.1 v still) so im thinking i could get alot higher if i solve the raid thing and get some mor epower to the winbond rams???

thanks

hi,
yes this raid-issue is some crap. try to deactivate the raid-ports in the bios!
but it keeps appearing on my dfi :/
and i've got the same psu then you! funny thing! there's never 12v on the 12v rail :)
always 11,9-11,7 :) ......

and another advice!
the 3,2vdimm is very unstable.....sometimes 3,05v/3,17 ....
try 3,1 this is more stable.

yeah ive diabled the RAID ports , but it keeps appearing :stick:

lol its true about the lc power PSU though lol its 11.83 now though im pretty happy  but i guess thats what we get for going with the cheapest possible PSU that you can find.

the bh-6 needs as much voltage as possible so im trying to get it as high as possible, it was stable even with the fluctuations

The higher vdimm setting in the bios will only work if the 3.3v in tweaked up and the max vdimm is normally aroung 0.1 below the 3.3 volt rail. You could try that 5v to the ram mod, that should make the higher options available too. I'm just not sure if the power circuitry for th board was built to handle the 5 v rail.

I am quite happy that my board epox vdimm is already on the 5v and can be adjusted by a mod and is extremely stable. :)
