Hi there,
I have an Oakville mobile 3000+ CPU that works great in my DFI LanpartY NF3 250GB, but will indefinately reboot in the Shuttle AN50R that I'd planned to use it in. My other option would've been a Mobile 3000+ Clawhammer, but this CPU does only work with a multi of 4x in the Shuttle. :(
That's a real pain in the A**.
Now is someone out there, who could extract the micocodes from the DFI BIOS and add them into the Shuttle BIOS. Or can somebody explain to me how I could do it on my own?
BIG THX in advance!

Well, I'm trying to do what i described above, for the last days. Unsuccessful until now, but I'll keep on trying. I think Shuttle uses some kind of own compression, because I just extracted the microcodes (cpucode.exe) from my DFI Lanparty NF3 BIOS and tried to just fit it into the AN50R BIOS (same size and everything), but it didn't work. Got a checksum error everytime I tried.
Now I found the bios for the the Shuttle FX83 XPC mainboard with support for the newest D-stepping Semprons (90nm if I'm not mistaking), so I'll just try that one.
Wish me luck! :toast:
Edit:
Well, this time, no cmos checksum error at least. The microcodes from the fx83 seem to work, as the board works, but there's still the problem that the Oakville only recognizes 256MB, regardless of what RAM is installed and it is not bootable. Posts but hangs shortly after. Got into BIOS by selecting multi and voltage etc with the clawhammer installed in advance. But didn't fully do the trick either. There still seems to be no microcode in the bios (fx83 doesn't seem to have it,too :( ). Furthermore, the mobile Clawhammer is still limited to 4x multi. :(
But, I won't give up. :) :toast:
Any helpful tips or just ANY HELP is appreciated. ;)
Edit2:
Holy SH**! I added the DFI LP NF3 microcode successfuly this time, but still, the Oakville and the mobile Clawhammer refuse to work correctly.
Then I flashed the complete latest FN85 Version1 BIOS to the AN50R (the FN85 seems to be nearly identical comparing the parts it's built of) and at least the whole 512MB RAM were detected correctly. BUT that was all. It was fun anyway, as with the FN85 BIOS I was able to control the fan speed in bios and have some other neat options. REally nice, although only dimm 1&2 work, due to the fact that the FN85 only has two dimm slots.
This seems to be a bigger problem, as the DFI microcode didn't solve the prob.
