^^^Jeff's first edit! ^^^
Did anyone hear a cherry pop?

Entity... Can you post some links to some literature? I'm finding it difficult to find anything but speculation and BS about these chips...

Ahhh... so you didn't notice any of my previous work. ;)

nope! Stealthy! Is everyone being good?

You know what I like to do... When someone says something stupid I like to replace it with something that sounds queer... So instead of I got a F'ing speeding ticket :stick: it turns into pretty pink ticket! :rotf: and I like to use this smiley to show I've been there. http://smly.org/smly/police.gif

I'd expect the dual cores to pretty much kick ass. Any one of them would be good for rendering. Heck, I'd want one myself.

I would go with the intel dual core. It will be out sooner anyway.

AMD isn't going to make any blazing fast dual core chips... Intel will be making some 2X EE chips  God I want one!!!!!

Yhea but the problem is, Intel will offer 2x EE cores, but what will it need to stay cool AND how much will it cost?

And will the AMD produce less heat and how is it's price/performance ratio?

yeah... lol @ rod... he's getting wet over what will probably be close to a $2000 CPU... I don't even have that much left to pay on my car. No thanks Intel. If you can justify the cost of one of those, then you can probably justify the cost of a dualie dual-core Opteron system... and my money is on the Opteron's for price/performance. :2cents:

Price/performance ratio...  Who cares how much it cost if it's the fastest!?!??! This is XTREMESystems... not TomsHardware. ;)

What do you think all the serious benchers will be running? It will be the dual core P4EE as AMD isn't making a dual core FX chip... (As of yet)

if Intel keeps up their current trend, they won't be the fastest

It won't take a dual core FX to compete with Intel's top offering... :stick:

large, high latency cache's and super high clocked 31 stage pipes doesn't mean its going to be the fastest no matter how many cores it has... just look how big of a flop the current EE is compred to just regular P4's. I take anything Intel toats as the latest and "greatest" with a grain of salt.

AMD>Intel in performance and cost.

All of us aren't made out of money. :(
