when i OC'd my leadtek 6600gt pci-e 76.10 beta(optimal frequency) to 550/1110, it locks up in games and once it gave me a BSOD

do i have to bump up the voltage or anything?

also, on my dfi ultra-d, does the maximum payload for pci-e @ 4096 affect anything? would i get better scores with payload @ 128 or 256?

Freezing is a sign of overclocking too far, try overclocking less. If you keep underclocking all the way back to stock without resolving the problem, then it probably lies elsewhere.
