View Full Version : Just wanted to share my Radeon 9500 Non-Pro (4 Pipelines only) result :D

Hi guys,

I'm just too excited. Had this card running in the office system for some time now, as it produced artifacts when trying to unlock the 4 extra pipelines. I vmodded it some time ago, but never tested it out.

Well, today, I thought I should risk it and this it what it got me with only 4 pipelines:

What do you think?
I'm really happy.

The system and the card are not even maxed yet. The card can do 400MHz on the core and perhaps even more (max tested so far is 400) and the RAM can do 350MHz and perhaps even more. I had it rock solid at 400GPU/350RAM before benching. had my CPU clocked lower (only 2Ghz with 200MHz FSB). But with the CPU clocked higher, the card seems to have power problems as it artifacts now with the same settings. :(
Well my extra PSU only for the card hopefully solves that.

Just wanted to share this, as I was quite surprised. Had seen those kind of results with 9500NP cards before, but didn't quite believe it.

Greetings from Bavaria

Ingmar :) :toast:

ok now i'm really mad

i get 3000 more than u with 3200+ @ 2.1 and 500/1000 6600gt pci-e @ 550/1100

nice scores for 9500 btw

Thx guys!

What about this now? At first, it doens't seem too good, but then...

This score was done with a stable GPU clock of 470 MHz. 1.9V VGPU was applied to make it stable.

The following pics show the card working and a screeny as prove.

The system was only running at 1.4Ghz, that's wh the score is relatively low, and the MEM wasn't clocked up either, becuase his card is suffering from serious power problems, although my system is powered by a high quality 520W Topower PSU.

First screeny:

Other pics will follow. Got to eat something now. :toast:

Try to get the same as me with 8Pipes on 1.7V ---->415core

Hehe, that's a tough one. :D

Here are some pics of the card. Excuse the mess all around it. That's just a preliminary setup, as I'm just in the middle of modding my main case (nearly done BTW).

Wtf? How do the ramsinks perform? :D

that's some messy cooling...must be good to dissipitate 1.9v though.

490 gpu is impressive, although to beat 8 pipes at 415 you'll need to hit 830mhz (theoretically at least).

Wtf? How do the ramsinks perform? :D

Well they seem to do pretty good for their size. But VDD is only at 3V and it's hynix 3.6ns RAM. I think it doesn't get as hot as the Samsung or Infineon stuff (at least it seems like it).

Did you notice the massive copper heatsink on the back of the GPU? :D

Edit:

BTW, Steven, you can get your GPU to 415MHz, but how high can you clock your MEM on the card?
I think I could pull a easy 16-17K (depending on the system speed; 2,7GHz is possible with this XP-M; AND 250-270 MHz on the system RAM is also possible) bench if the extra PSU just for the card helps and I can keep GPU and RAM at it's max. at the same time.

Well, in the end I always have most of the fun when clocking parts to their limit that are already quite "old".

Already got a new, higher score:

He overclocked almost 1Ghz. 3dMark01se depends on cpu so much.

Btw this is what my 9700Pro does.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8420247

I could hit 18000 with some more effort.

not bad ffp, but that score is a tad low though. a 9700 Pro should do 20+ with a little cpu power and u have that barton at 2.8 which should easily fetch u a 20k or at least a 19, seeing as how ur 2k1 run was only with proc at 2.4.

Those are my listed rigs. I have a few more and a couple laptops.

The Barton 2600 is my baby. I loved it ever since i had it and i rarely ever use it except for folding. My main rig is with a 2400 Mobile which doesnt oc too well. Limited to about 2.5Ghz on my cooling. Not sure why i cant break 18000 though, i'll attempt it right now and post back in awhile. :)

:( wow :(
sucks

Just benched with no tweaks. 17,500. Damn im pissed. Cpu only at 2.3 though. Im gonna oc a bit more and try to break 18k tonight.

Just broke 18k!! barely, but wtf does this mean?

This project can not be published due to detected CPU speed variation. The orb doesnt let me publish it because of that.

similar runs for some of the tests except I'm ahead by 4-fps in car high and 35fps in lobby high with a 8 pipe 9500

you might gain a few hundred points with dx 8.1 instead
btw you got any links to vmods?
My card seems a bit different to the cards I've seen vmodded
So far I'm at 405/325 on air with a zalman heatpipe and no mods
