Strong crunching, the both of you! I know Big Deel has been working towards this pass for a long time. Good going.

Hehe... I know, I know... We're probably gonna be switching places for some time (wait one more hour and you'll see me passing Big again) ...
Until Big gets his Xeon rig running we're gonna be passing eachother, I guess... I should get my Neo2 running again next week - need to get another CPU and I'm set...

Well, it's not over yet :)

Been reading about the latest 3500+'s, myself, in another thread, the ones that are Newcastles that seem to reach 2750 mHz(+) easily. Went to Newegg looking around; was so tempted. I have an Epox S 939 board, NIB, here that I am hoping, and have been attempting, to get modded. It would fit well with one of those strong chips. Very tempting. Figure that combo would be god for perhaps 160-180 candidates a day.

Well, it's not over yet :)

Excellent point of view! :)

your not looking at intels for crunching? I think we have finally found something intel chips are better than amds at.

well, I'm not 100% sure if Intel chips are better/faster at crunching D2OL...
as far as I know, there's no D2OL benchmark so we can't say what is faster - Intel or AMD. we would have to compare two PCs docking SAME candidates to EXACTLY same target (like SARS I or SARS II or any other). without benchmark like that you can't say that Intel is better than AMD or other way around...

one thing for sure - it's cheaper to built fast dual Xeon rig than fast dual Opteron ;)

Well, I do have another Xeon cruncher in the works, on the heels of this NCCH-DL ...

But, I have been an AMD man for years. I mean my current AMD's are putting out a respectable amount so far, no?

At any rate, I already have the board ( needs to be modded! ), XP-90, RAM and am hoping to wait on Venice ( if I can keep my eyes off what the latest 3500+ Newcastles are doing ). A64's do make pretty stout crunchers. My current Neo2 Plat/3500+ is probably my best cruncher ( until I get this Xeon/NCCH humming along, that is ).
