Today is the first day I've had my x800 Pro in my new system since I got it back from RMA. Back when I had a Barton running @ 2.6 and the same video card and same clocks, I was getting about 22k in 3d01.... but now with my 754 system with Clawhammer @2.91Ghz, I'm only getting 18191???? How is it possible I went down so far....

One thing that really strikes me as odd, other than everything being a lot lower than I expected it to be is my drago hi/low are AWFUL. What could be the problem here?

For reference, my Super PI is 31s atm. Seems like this is just way too low for my clocks...

It's a fresh OS install... first drivers I've installed... they are the older 4.12 drivers, and I do have them set on optimal performance in the 3d tab...

SMARTGART lists AGP as off instead of 8x, but I've seen that before.. I doubt it's causing the problem. AGP is set to Auto in the BIOS.

your dragothic scores are way waaaay down....

Torin

Yeah I know.... I have no idea what could be causing it... I'm going to install the newer drivers and see what happens.

Ran it with the 5.3 drivers and got 19877, but that's still really low, and the dragothic scores are WAY below what they should be....

I wonder if the memory divider could be doing this...

the mem divider wouldnt drop your score ~5k below what it should be.. theres something up with drivers

Chipset drivers.

Yeah, something seriously wrong... same clocks on my old Barton setup got me a little over 12k in 03, but now I'm getting 9184!! Something is seriously wrong here.

I uninstalled the drivers with the software uninstall utility in add/remove programs and rebooted before installing the new drivers... is there something I'm missing??

Chipset drivers.
I do not believe I ever installed any... that could be the problem?

Should I get them from the DFI website or install them from the CD that came with the mobo?

Had exactly the same problem with a 9800 AIW card and those older drivers, some time ago. Well, if smartgart tells you AGP is off, then you should better believe that. That is causing the massive performance drop. At least in my case, AGP support was really disabled in the drivers. So just uninstall the drivers and directx. Use "drivercleaner" to make sure that all the ATi files get deleted. Then install the newest version of directx and reinstall the drivers. That should make sure that AGP is working again. BTW, have a look into your system BIOS and set AGP to 8x, just to play it safe. ;)

Edit:

:D Now that explains why AGP was disabled.
No chipset drivers means no AGP support on nforce platforms. ;)

Bloody hell...

hahaha.. updating the chipset drivers and I'll see what happens. :)

I figured if something needed a driver and didn't have it, I'd see something out of the ordinary in device manager... I guess not....

LOL, ok that fixed it. Thank you so much craig, I was about to go crazy. After the chipset drivers were installed, AGP showed as 8x in SMARTGART and 3d01 brought me 30123.

Time to get OCing. :)

Dam dude that was stupid, eheheh, i remember i didn't isntall my chipset drivers properly, but it didn't effect performance that much.

I think you can get 32k, i get 30k only at 2550, how many points are 5-2-2-2 timmings worth over slack ones?

You should set the Texture Preference and Mipmap Detail Level to "High Performance".
To do that you'll need to use Custom settings (you can move the sliders 1 notch more to the left on this screen). Won't make a great deal of difference, but every little bit helps. :)

why do you keep deleting your 3dmark compares? I wont be able to help you then but make sure aa/af is off, everything is set to HIGH performance, use win2k, run ram in sync and have all drivers properly working, including chipset drivers. This will get your nature and dragons to where they should be
