Nice job :)...
Only about 400 marks away from me...if you could get up to 2.75Ghz or so...then you might be able to beat my score...
Had to take a break on my record run because of PSU problems...but when this gets settled will be going for the 27.5 mark on a non v modded air cooled Pro...
One thing...up your AGP to 79Mhz if your Pro will let you run at that...this will increase both Dragon runs...

Neo2 no mod only 2.85v on ddr :(

almost 27k isnt bad, may wanna consider getting tccd ram for 1:1 I am beating both of your lobbies by a fair bit due to higher bandwith. Yes bh5 is faster clock for clock but 1:1 tccd beats bh5 at 166 divider. what gpu clocks are those man? thats some insane gpu power! watercooled gpu?
max. freq. on air! :)

your lobbies at 2.7GHz are below what I get at 2.6GHz but your insane gpu clock just muscles ahead in nature and dragon! I have a very hard time believing your gpu is all air cooled, unless its like 10c or less. please tell us more, volt mods? how bad are the artifacts? and what am I doing wrong? why cant I get a 500/400+ 9800pro?????? im only at 450/380 with vmods :(

I don't doubt 172fps Nature from a good air-cooled 9800XT. Stevehat1 and Stang_Man were both pushing 170fps+ with modded 9800 Pro's on air like ~1-year ago. Just need a decent clocker, a CPU hsf, and some more volts :P

U could get 28k if you get a booster and up your bh-5 to run 1:1. That should mke your scores higher, also allowing your cpu to run faster.

why cant I get a 500/400+ 9800pro??????
A 9800XT most likely has 2.5ns Hynis ram. If you have Samsung on your 9800pro, that is probably why. From what I've seen, even the 2.8ns Hynix seems to be pretty good. Before anyone jumps in and posts about how good of clocks they got on their Sammy 2.8ns, let me just say that I know some have done well. There is an exception to most rules...

I get almost 154 nature with my 9800p, if I cant get it to around 165 nature, its going for sale. My silencers should reach me very soon but the way its going, I dont even know if I can hit 160 nature. 450/380 is where its at now and thats with vmods. One of my friends said vmods dont even matter, he had 4 9800s and he said vmodding the ram is useless, gained him nothing. Vmodding the core gained only like 10MHz even in the outside cold air. No artifacts in cold air but the core was crashy. I am right when I say 99% of 9800pros suck. my 450/380 isnt artifact free and overheats, ill be lucky to get 450/375 clean with a silencer and my friends say this is considered good too :(
edit: my gpu has ramsinks so no clue on ram, but is it not infineon? Infineon wouldnt do 370s, right? is there any chance I can break 400 with my ram? what about 500 core on air?

99% of all 9800 Pros do not suck. And the fact that *your friend* didn't get any mem Mhz and only 10 core mhz does not in any way go for all GPU's. Maybe you and your friend just don't know wth you're doing. This may sound harsh, but I'm just tired of you spouting off about how all these cards suck for OC'ing and more cooling and vmods don't do anything. Even a p.o.s. card will benefit from better cooling and more voltage. I would guess on the 9700/9800 series, after finding a given cards max OC on stock voltage, you can definately get another ~50mhz by putting a good CPU hsf on there and vmodding. Mem is not so certain, but ramsinks + vmods WILL give you more mhz. The way these guys get 500+/400+ is they start with a card that will do decent speeds stock cooled, like say 440/390. After your all finished modding that baby up, you will 500+/400+ clocks. But if you start with a card that does 395/355, put a Silencer on there and increase volts by .1 for core mem respectively, you're not going to get very far.
Sorry if that sounds too harsh. If a mod thinks it is I will edit it. But that is how I feel, and I think it's a shame for someone with as many posts as Ace to sometimes not know certain things.

You got a Neo2 - get a Booster or VDIMM@3.3V mod! 1:1 will make it that much better!

twilius_basic, I get the message with your post. My friend is no noob, hes gone thru 4 of those 9800pros and his best one did 460/385 outdoors in the winter air and with vmods. On stock cooling it did 430 core and thats with lots of artifacts too. He thinks I have a VERY good core at 450 with fairly mild artifacts. It is to his experience that vmodding the gpus ram doesnt help and people I know are happy to gain 10MHz with ramsinks which mine already has. 380 with ramsinks isnt good, sorry to say. He did point out I can flash to the gigacube bios and 400MHz may be possible, I will try that only if I can get the core to at least 480. I asked him if the .1v that my core has been modded above stock could be killing my clocks, he said with a silencer the worst that can happen is you wont gain any higher clocks. Right now I consider my 9800p ok but not great by any stretch. One more thing, you are right about cores being different, some dont benefit at ALL from vmods, others gain quite a bit. You seem to have alot of knowlege, perhaps you can help me what to do next after I get my silencer on that. I want to try to break 500 core, even with a little artifacting, I still dont care.

Mem clocks of 375 are really hurting this pro, especially since its running 490 on air through 01 with minor artifacts on fairly warm air. Would vmods really help push it over 400mhz? Mems 2.8ns Hynix iirc...
Hoping to run 500/400 after vmods which should be do-able, only another 10mhz core, and 25 on the mem...

Just goes to show that even hynix isnt always great :( have you used the gigacube bios yet? My friends say it magically gains like 20MHz higher ram clocks

Nope, will give it a flash sometimes, want to keep to a 9800pro bios if possible, is the gigacube one an XT bios?

Geforce,
On good air cooling, you should be okay at 1.85Vgpu,....at least temporarily for 3D benching. If you don't feel comfortable with that, Take the fan off the silencer and aim a high power 80 or 92mm at it(angled towards back side of case). I've gone up to at least 1.9v with the 9800s I had, but that was on water.

what is stock volt for core and ram? My friend turned the volts up .1 for each, I honestly think the extra volts is making the card too hot which is hurting the overclocks. If I hit 460 with silencer, wont turning the volts back down gain me more cause itll run cooler?
DrJay

I believe 1.7 volts is the standard for R350 and R360 on 9800pro cards(at least it is on all the ones I've checked). Stock mem voltage should be between 2.8 and 3.0. You can run 24/7 @ 3.2 - 3.4 with ramsinks and good airflow.

Great score :toast: Is there any higher aircoolded score or are your best?
That GFX clocks is amazing too. Put the GFX clocks in the resultat on the orb.
Geforce4ti4200: Had a bad clocking 9800pro too, but never really tried to push, it much funnier to tweak/overclock a geforce6800LE. Why don't you get one too or a 6800NU? Or is it too "new" card to you? ;) semms like you like to bench old cards.

Very well done dude :toast: So close to 28K air-cooled
That 9800 is very nice on air.
GF4Ti, stock voltages are:
9700/Pro: ~1.5V
9800 Pro: ~1.7V
9800XT: ~1.8V
I have run 1.9V through my 9700 Pro under ALX-800 hsf, 2V under DI cooling. With a Silencer, I'd be hesitant to go above 1.9V on 9800, however I saw one guy running 2.1V through 9800+Silencer  He must've had super low ambient though.

28.5k is one sick score indeed! Your winchester overclocks like a Venice too! If thats all on air, its a world record for winny and 9800p on air at that! Why are you running 350x8? isnt 280x10 the same thing? How fast is your ram running?

This
why cant I get a 500/400+ 9800pro??????
and this
My silencers should reach me very soon
Don't mix.
You need a real cooler if you want good clocks. I had a stock silencer and it barly helped my clocks over the stock cooler, maybe an extra 10MHz if even that. I stripped everything off of it and just used the metal as a base. I used a 120MM 220CFM delta to cool it and it worked out great, 502/420 came easily. This was on a DDR2 card, which ATI was sending all of their crappy cores to and DDR2 was so new when this card came out that it didn't run nearly as well as normal DDR memory. It used to be the no.1 DDR2 9800 on the ORB, I have since sold it though, so someone has probably passed me up.
Max on air!now start whit fx

Heres my top score on 3dmark 2k1.. nothing as extreme as yours though lol...

god 28.8k is just sick! youve amazed all of us with that amazing score! Thats gotta be the best winny ive seen too, 2.8GHz 3dmarkable, many people cant bench past 2.5GHz! question: isnt 280x10 just as good since you have a 10x multi?
hmm... dare me to bench at 2.8 on air? :D
Shall give her a shot ;)

lol just tried... meh didnt succeed :(
Think my RAM is holding me back... Shall increase dividers later and up the VCore and see what I can get :)
