View Full Version : Dammit !
I just received my last parts for my second system (3000+ and Enermax 460W), i also got back my GF4 Ti 4200 i borrowed a friend.. i put every thing a big baggage. Also my Case was in there. I took the cpu and Power supply in the case and the 4Ti just in the baggage. While carriing it up to my house, i heard a strange noise.. the 4Ti got under the case and a transistor of my card broke down.. is any hope for this card?.. could i solder it?

As long as the legs on it are still long enough to solder to, it should be ok to just solder it back on, but just be careful to solder it on the correct way around, otherwise it might go pop.
k thnx.. i will try it, but i have to go now.. will do it tommorow
i hope the legs are still long enough, if not i would have to buy me a GF 4Mx before i have enough money for the 6600

it's just a cap, go to you electronics shop, show it to them, and ask for the same value, then, resolder it, or ask them to do, if they accept :)
you're board is not dead

If you can find a replacement at the store, maybe you can solder extensions on the stubs. Don't give up.. You can fix it ;)

If you can't solder it back on, tell me what value it is and I'll check if I can find a similar capacitor to post you.

if the lefs arent long enough, you might want to solder some reallllyy short wire, 22G solid would work nicely...maybe 1Cm long or a lil shorter.
