I was arguing on a forum that linux was hard to configure and that i ahd spend many sleepless night trying to make it work
I also said that my comp was oc'ed
So someone said i was out of touch and that was typical from people under windows and if i wasn't able to configure linux it was because my pc was oc'ed
I must tell you he's right, i've underclocked my comp to 5MHz and now linux is so easy to work with !!!! :D :D :D :ROTF:  :bs: :bs: :bs: :ROTF:
ps why do i always fall on the dumbest guy on earth when i'm on a forum (except here of course :) )??? Why when you talk with someone under linux he seems like he's living up his ass, they always give this feeling that they're sooooooo superior

The retarded forum person is a strange breed, generally assisted by a bloated post count they can sit and say anything and pretend to get away with it.
Linux ppl miss all the fun about hardware, an example:
Windows dude: Wooohooo! New hardware have to get me one of those!
Linux dude: Meh, all this new hardware is just not worth it, it cost too much. (they really mean, "damn, this crappy distro might not have the drivers in another six years! Oh please Bill and Steve comfort me!)
[Disclaimer: This does not apply here, the main german posting machine is a very nice guy for example]

This one didn't even have a high postcount, that doesn't prevented him from being a moron

I use linux every night at home, at work i use windows.
If you need help with linux and know how to use IRC use the server irc.arstechnica.com and join channel #linux. Don't troll them, they prefer you ask the stupid question and just get it over with. There's coders, isp admins, regular users like myself and several people that seem to know everything, even some windows stuff ;).

Just like anywhere on the 'net, you can find a**holes and good people. Just keep checking out forums and irc, etc 'til you find the folks that help YOU! :)
For a Linux router appliance, the forums at clarkconnect.org have a lot of good, helpful people. While not the most technical, if you run MEPIS the posters at mepislovers.org will gladly answer polite noob questions, MEPIS is aimed at Linux beginners.
Decent Linux support IS available. Let the others play in their sandboxes.

I use linux only and never really use windows at all unless I wanna do some benching. I do understand that there are linux zealots who are offensive and rude, but for the most part there are idiots and jerks in any online forum and in many facets if life. That said, I don't give a :banana::banana::banana: what people use as their OS and I know a lot of linux users who feel that way. :stick:

So far my impression with the linux community has been rather bad, i posted or asked stupid question, or even some harder ones that i couldn't resolve by myself and i receive little help or none at all and a lot of links to webpages that tool forever to read and didn't even solved my case
Some people were nice but still they're a minority (in the places i looked)

I generally like step by step guides for harder stuff, such as linux.
I got to the step when i had a dual-boot feodora and winXP. Then it hit me; i never booted the linux, too much i missed and too much hassle in general. Tried using wine, despite being IMO really hard to configure the performance was sub-par at best.

I have found Linux IRC channels to be rather helpful in the past. If you are a Debian user, check out #debian on freenode or #linux on quakenet. Both have helped me in the past, even with the stupidest of questions.

google and mailing lists help me with my linux problems. i don't use IRC because i don't have access to IRC here at work.
