My wife and I just got back home from running a few errands. But while we were at the bank, I noticed a bunch of small girls sitting at a table across the street with their mothers selling something. And then it finally occurred to me that it's that time of the year again! Girl Scout Cookies!!! :slobber:

"I'll take four boxes, please." :D

Come on, man. You just dropped $1,350 on OPB's cascade. What's another $5 to help some little kids out? ;)

 When going skiing to the alps you pass through germany. The restrooms at the "rastplats" generally have a vending machine full of things you've barely even herd of.
Cookies is topic i presume.
:( I wan't cookies :(

Pfft. Those things can't hold a candle to my mom's homemade peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They're always chewy and they melt in your mouth... Even after coming out of the freezer and being thawed they're as perfect as if they came out of the oven. I rarely share my cookies at school, but when I do people always tell me to tell my mom that she makes good cookies.

On the other hand, my sister-in-law's mom is a Girl Guide leader so she always gives us free Girl Guide cookies. w00t!

I'll start a thread on anything, bro. :D Besides, Girl Scout Cookies are pretty xtreme. Xtremely good, that is.

Samoas used to be my favorite. But for the last few years, I've only been munching on Thin Mints and Shortbread. I can wolf down a box with a glass of milk before even realizing that the box is empty. By the time Girl Scout Cookie season is over, I've probably spent a good $60.00 or $70.00 on cookies. :slobber:

The kids see zip from it, the cookies are nasty, and they cost too much. I say down with companies that make money off the backs of little kids

Yes, and the school fundraisers too, if I could get away with it I would burn their local building down.

I think you've missed the point. During cookie sale season, Girl Scouts are placed in teams that work towards a common goal: sell as much cookies as you possibly can. They learn how to become competitive with one another, reap the benefits of satisfaction by working towards their goal, and have fun in the process.

Of course the kids do not make any profit or commission from selling the cookies. However, proceeds from sales do provide the girl scout troops with the financial resources to implement their plans for trips, projects, and special activities. If you ever take the time to read through one of the brouchures that they have available during cookie season, you'll understand where the money goes.

Handing a little girl the last $5.00 in my wallet for a box of cookies to see her smile is priceless. Better her selling cookies today and becoming a CEO tomorrow than to see her stealing cheap cosmetics at age 10 and dancing on the strippers' pole by her 18th birthday. ;)

rofl. I picked up another box of peanut butter patties(BEST THINGS EVER) the other day form a stand at a grocery store and finished off the entire box that afternoon while doing Java programming. :slobber:

Odd that I eat like this all the time, tons of junkfood, and I'm still a skinny little bastard at 6'2", ~170lbs. Guess running and lifting everyday helps, though.

Same here. 6'1 and around 180 pounds. I do nothing but sit down all day, but my metabolism is just turbo. It's been this way for me since I was a kid.

6'0" ~190lbs. If I am active I drop about ten pounds or so and in the summer I bounce my weight for racing so theres another 5lbs. I am like Crankster as well, am very big but don't look it.

5'10" @ 170lbs. I have about 12% of body fat. I take Sundays to indulge myself with those cookies and other goodies.:D
