does this mean u never really have to clear the cmos if system doesnt post from overclocking too much?
this is a popular board so i hope someone has the answer.
also, i know that all new(like week 50 and beyond) winchesters that are 3200's and 3000's suck, but what about the 3500's? do those overclock well?

Yes, one might have to reset the CMOS after an unsuccessful overclock attempt. However, CMOS reloaded saves your old settings so you can easily boot back to them without the hassle of tweaking the bios again. However, it is always recommended that you never use CMOS reloaded settings after a bios flash, as that can kill a board. Otherwise, CMOS reloaded is a very useful feature for those that overclock often.

There is no secret or magic chip when it comes to Winchesters. Most of it is luck. All you can do is prey for a decent chip and not a CBBID. More importantly, there is little proof that 3500+ 90nm chips overclock significantly better than their lower-class cousins. Typically, all three can reach the same wall.

I've always used the CMOS Reloaded feature after a bios flash and it's never been a problem.

I agree though that it is a very useful feature.
