I took two one liter seltzer bottles, filled them with water, and froze them over night. Cut them in half with a saw than knock the ice out into a cooler (DO NOT run up two flights of stairs with the ice in your hands. I found out the senseless numb finger way :p: ) with a hammer than drop them in your res. It held me at THIS:

For about an hour of benching.

I just need to figure out a way to make big chunks of ice with a reusable container...

Looks nice and....ghetto!

It would probably get colder if you get the chunks of ice completedly submerged into the water. Also, your water may be trying to freeze so it may not be able to get much cooler without turning into ice.

Try ice would also be a good thing to put into the res. It's cheap and you can cut it into whatever shape you want and it evaporates, so you won't have any excess water.

I dun thing it will work, I remember when I was young my friends dad would always put bits of DI into drinks, never really made it extra cold or anything.

NEVER do that. you do not know how the dry ice was manufactured. it may have certain chemicals still in it that are toxic.

If you wan't to chill water with DICE you need to have it cooling alocohol and then through metal or something cool the water, DICE and water just don't mix well...
