Am I right in assuming this would work or did I get it wrong?

50k pot as I have drawn in the pic between leg 5 and 7?

edit: oops... put it on leg 6 and 8 lol, just imagine each is over one to the right, would that be right?

Not sure what you mean? Which goal? I'm assuming you mean what does this mod do right?

It's the vddq mod, not sure what vddq is, but it is supposed to be set to 1/2 of the vddr, it should gain you some slight overclock on the memory, it is under the heatspreader on the back of the card, I pulled mine off and this is what it looks like underneath which is where this is located. Don't do this mod till I get confirmation that it is correct tho, don't want you to fry ur card cause of me :p:

I think that pin 1 is the feedback pin and pin 4 is ground, so you will have to connect the VR between pins 1 and 4. I don't know if I was looking at the right datasheet tho, so you might want to check the pin numbering on the datasheet yourself.

Can you link me to the datasheet?

Vddq - Solder a 50k trimmer between pin 1 and pin 4 (ground) of IRU3037A, found under the back plate, following the picture below. Lower the resistance for more volts.

I ripped all 4 of those off mine

BTW vddq may or may not kill your card instantly ;)

Nah. Vddq won't kill the card. Vref will. :)

interesting lol, why will it kill the card, and how can you know if it's going to or not?

vRef will definately kill it :) VDDQ is a maybe, normally it doesnt kill it instantly, but dont raise it very much if you know whats good for you :) There isnt really a way to know :)

Keep Vddq at 1/2 of Vdd and you'll not kill your card. AFAIK Vref cooks your card lil by lil, or just kills it instantly. That's how I lost that 97P on the pics.
At the time that card was running 452/351 on air. :D

yup, I wonder if thats too high though? Makes me scared now that I know all this.

Would there be no other mods to reduce stress on the card to get around the vref killing the card off?

You don't need vref, bro. It is too much risk. Vref should be considered "for illustration purposes only" or "for kamikaze o/cers only". :lol

IMO biggest risk with Vddq is when removing the back plate. Where one of those ICs can easily be damaged.
