Hey,

I received my new Sapphire X850XT today.... And guess what? On -10C loaded, the MAX is 620MHz on the core and 630MHz on the memory!!!

This is SOOO bad.... On air it did 580MHz MAX which is not great at all though!

One great thing, it shows the EXACT same temp as my temp probe....

Thanks

Baddest... as in your happy with it... or baddest as in the results are bad. Maybe you should edit your post to the "worst" X850XT.

Not a great overclocker that card...sorry. :(

skate, you are not alone... I think the made these cards plain XT's for a reason... my card stock air maxed out at 58o core as well, the memory looked like it had potential at 618 stock but after voltmodding the mem went up a measley 11mhz to 629... it just didn't respond to extra volts at all.... the core OC pretty much sucks too even at 1.65v since the mem is dragging it down.... damn OEM 850XT... :( I was really aiming at 41k and beyond in 3D01 but I can't even beat my watercooled X800XT PE....

Reminds me of old RUN DMC rap...

not bad, meaning bad, but bad meaning good! Or vice versa??

Yeah between "baddest" and the exclimation point I thought it was some kind of uber card :(

And skate2snow, arnt you like 13 now? How do you afford all this stuff? I thought I got alot...

I was hopin you meant baddest in a good way too. :stick:

He's either got a job, or IIRC his dad is well off and might be funding his ventures. Not really any of our business though.

Nah, this is the WORST...

And ISP, you are right in 2 things on 3, I have a job, my dad is well off, but he is not funding my hobby;).

with all that hardware surely you can afford broadband :P

Its not a money problem, its an availbality problem;)

That sucks :( I'd die without broadband :p: Is there no child labor law in Canada or do you deliver papers or something? Around here you have to be 16 to legaly get a "real" job... And delivering papers and cutting lawns for a video card is NOT my idea of fun.

Here, its 15 years old. I build computers for a local shop "under the table". And I buy and resell things locally ("things" doesn't mean drug!). And Paintball tournaments rewards are normally big enough (2000$ for 3 player team is the average and we win them all;))

Payed to play paintball (theres no where to even play near me :\ ) and build computers. Lucky... Now sell the card to someone of lesser OCing knowledge and get a good one :D

wow $2000 for winning paintball torneys, wow thats alot! I could buy all the computer stuff I wanted or better yet save for a condo, they cost $$$$$$$ anyway you could always resell that card and buy a better overclocker. get win2k too and do tweaks, your car high and lobbies are very low for 3GHz

Actually I got this card over-priced, so I cannot make money on it:(.....

well dont worry then, its still fast enough for any game and its not gonna matter in 3dmark 2001 except for nature. Youll gain alot more upgrading to win2k, right now your getting less performance than my 2.6GHz winny :(

ATI have figured out how to increase their X800XT PE/X850XT PE sales = strictly bin their non-PE cards close to stock speeds as possible and give their PE cards the oc'able head room cores/mem

I have seen some non PE cards do well on the core. Besides the PE cards cost alot more anyway

skate2snow is lucky with his financial situation - I got 2 lousy jobs that bring in $200 a month: not exactly over kill is it? Next year should change, going up to floorball 1st senior league, some minor rewards and equipment should minimize expenses on sticks (ca. 1 per 2months -$100 a piece :().

Hope you have fun with your new Intel 640 setup, looks like I'm going for a 3,4ES unless I can get the new 630 for ~$200 :)

And finally get a WORSE card - I'm getting a FX5900, to kill under phase-change in the summer. The card is doomed to death now, I want to get 1500+ with it ;)

btw, sorry about your X850XT, you should have gotten a X850XT PE :D Time to eBay it with a FAT reserve :D

Just friendly advice sir, I was not making fun of you but just pointing out that your cpu tests in 3dmark 2001 are very, very low for your cpu clocks. 131 car high at 3GHz doesnt sound right, im sorry to say. I wont be telling you again but you are free to ask us for help anytime, the pleasures mine. I also mentioned you could go thru more cards *if* you feel like it. I have gotten dogs too and just ebayed em

The previous owner of my X850 XT NON-PE had it at 690/640 on an Exos with Maze 4 block and only GPU voltage mod, I'm hoping for at least those speeds with my Silverprop Fusion HL, I'll post my results here when I get my new AMD rig up in a couple weeks.
