Geforce 6800LE power, a WR in 3dmark01

Hi am new here, sorry for my english if it isn't correct allways.

I have been playing around with a geforce 6800LE, great tweaking/overclocking card and after a lot of benching i took the worldrecord in 01.

Just joined the xtremesystems3dmark team, hope this score is enough to join :D

My cpu isn't impresiv at all and my memmory is even worse, bur with gpu cloks and lot of tweaking i come this high. check the url for stats.
But had problems with blackscreen so I had to run dragon tests on low memmory speed. Shall do a mod soon and see i I get avoid of the problem.
Then i think i wil try to go for 30k then.

here is my 3dmark05 score, with no LOD, shall run with LOD soon to see how high i can go. But i had the blackscreen problem here too.

Not that many members make that big of a splash on their first post, but I see you have. Congratulations on your WR, I'm sure with that kind of determination, a 30k is not far away ;)

A winnie at 2.6 is quite powefull actually, though a cpuz shot of your ram timings would help there. Your 05 seems low for a 30k in 01 but as you said you havent tried LOD yet so good luck with that.

My 3DMark2005 is also around 53xx with my modded 6800LE @430/946MHz except it's running on a >2.5GHz XP-M, got a winnie @ 2.4GHz on the other rig, hmm.... :D

have a screenshot who shows memmory timings too, but is bigger ,in 1280x1024 so i just posted the small screenshot. BTw memmory timings are 3-3-3-11 1T, not what i hoped with tccd. Shall try to a64 tweak them next time.

yes, 2.6ghz+ winny help the score,´but a better cpu would rock in 3dmark01, But still you don't need any FX-55 power to be on the top :p:

My 3dmark05 is run on lower speed than i run nature actually, got blackscreen on any higher. bUt shall try for higher soon with LOD. I'm fitfh for the moment in 3dmark05 so I will be first soon or later.

I have pipemoded it to 16 pipelines and 6 vertex shaders. Yeah is much tuffer to get a geforce 6800Le with 16/6 and great overclocks than a 6800nu.

stealthbomber:You don't seem to need good cpu in 05, the one who are first is on amd XP. But it could give you a little boost, perhaps

I think not, maybe to 12/5. I think its an NV41 core just like the PCI-Express 6800NU uses. There is only 12/5 on the card.

Good tweaking probably :p: . If we check the test fps, you have higher in systems/cpu tests but I win you in nature and dragon high. Your dragon high sems low, i had to run 466/864 in DH and still have higher, or isn't vram so important in DH?

I have dual channel wich give me little more and windows 2k. I use LOD too, diffrent value for difrent test, tried that? I won 3fps in nature just using right amount of LOD not just 3+.

Tell me how did you manged to get 1230mhz on the videoram? isn't Geforce 6800NU just DDR1? thats a hell oc for a DDR1 :slobber:

illmatik: It's Gainward, Gainward has problems with blackscreen but you can do a mod to get avoid of it, shall try the mod later. But if someone wanna buy Le card so is leadtek good, higher chance to get 16/6 and no blackscreen problem. But gainward has faster ram.
i bhought this card on second hand for 265€, the seller had run it 16/6 on 400/800 1.4v but i tried higer and see where im now.

yes, i wanna such score without LOD. from 2.1-3.8. try 3.8 or similar in nature, i won 3fps with just chaning that. In the other test i didn-t see a big differnens, bur many likes lower LOD than 3. But it was terible to test because the tests will change often more from run to run than the LOD value give.

The biggest difference I can see is he has win2k :D Hes using everything you are but his win2k almost makes up for less cpu power, thats how much it matters


anyway great score there. experment with lod, for my ti4200s 5 seems to work best while its 4 for my geforce3 series. my ati cards get set to highest performance but they arent nearly as blury as nvidias lod :p: anyway if you wish to reach your 30k goal have you considered tccd ram? If gskill is still around, get 2x256mb and run the cpu at 9x multi and the fsb in the 290s. I run 289x9

that was done with a Asus V9999GE.
it's a very strange card.

2 molexs.
comes clocked at 350/1000 of DDR3, comes stock at 12/6. uses 2.0 NS ram. has the same volt mods as a 6800 Ultra... unlocks the 16 pipelines like nothing... I had 2 of these cards and they both unlocked perfectly.
that second molex really helps too I might add...

thats the secret, just get the best 6800 NU you can.
atleast, the most freakishly strong card thats still barely labled a 6800 NU ;)

Geforce4ti4200: I think thats the fact i'm using agp fastwrite on and he not, and the win2k too. You semms to love win2k,don't you :rolleyes:

I think i shall get new memmory sometimes, but not tccd. The tccd i have now isn't good. You can't find gskill here in Finland, yes I'm from Finland :D
If you would find it would cost a lot. I think Winboud UTT(twinmos) is a better choise, 2x512 so i can have 1gb ram and can run 10x253(My 24/7 speed) with good timings. And it's more extream :banana3:...and cheaper.

Kunaak:sounds like a geforce 6800 ultra with GT speeds 2ns ram and disabled pipelines so it only have 12 pipelines. strange card, a hybrid.
But it sounds like a great benchcard, is it expensive? not that i gonna leave my LE, just curios.

Do you know whats crasy, Le cards thats memmory goes over 1000mhz without any specials mods.

yes it is a very strange card, a definate hybrid.

I haven't seen too many LE's around, so I don't know of any hitting 1000, but I have seen the Chaintech A006800 do 1000 with no mods, see most 6800 comes with 2.2 NS ram, the Chaintech comes with 2.0 NS ram.
it also comes stock at 353/770.
I've seen those get really high on the ram and do it really stable.

by the looks of your sig, I would be stoked with your 6800, thats some nice specs for a sub 300 card ;)

by the way, my first 6800 was a EVGA, and it did 485/890 at best.
that was with watercooling and a 1.5 volt bios.
I still like EVGA's I always get some luck with them.

I'm very happy with the ram on it but the core is very disapointing. I was hoping for a bit more than semi stable 455 at 1.5V with 5C water... Either way I got the 30k I set out to with just ice water so I'm (somewhat) satisfied :D I have alot more ice so I'll play around with that and fast writes now.

thanks man fastwrites helps a ton! I'll have to get a real run with it thursday with win 2k when I get time. I was able to run 450/950 2.91ghz when my water was at 1.2C but the temps came up fast and I ran out of ice. I think I can do 31k with FW and w2k. Dry ice tube comes tommorow :D

I wish I knew, lol...I know there are other factors involved though. For example: the FSB setting, RAM timings, AGP Aperture size - to name a few. But how the overall score is calculated exactly, is anyones guess. I just don't know why my overall score is so low when compared to yours, considering my CPU and GFX scores are slightly higher...I feel I'm missing a setting, a very important setting, or something...I don't know. I DO know I never meant to hijack this thread and turn it into an AM3 discussion. Sorry.

Wait... Ok I got an EVGA 6800 "Limited Edition". Is this the same card in question? as in LE? It has the two molex+256mb gddr3 and the box it came it was just an Ultra box with a Limited Edition sticker over the part it says ultra. It already came with the pipes/vp unlocked.

Its faster but at room temp I lost ~40mhz on my core clock and at 1.2C I could get 450 semi stable while 455 was rock stable at 1.2C with FW off. Drago and car go thru the roof with it tho.

I very hapy with my core :D , my ram isn't the best but not bad.

Kunaak: Here in Finland and sweden they are very popular, people buy them instaed of geforce 6600GT. Some LE cards have 2.2ns too, i think the gainward have it too, but shouldn't 2.2ns clcok better than 900? that's what mine do.


isp: For 3dmark03 and 05 are agp fastwrite off better, but for 3dmark2k1 you shall use agp fastwrite on, i think you shall have it on in aquamark3 too.
Haven't tested which is best in games.

ArcTAn: It just cpu who matters, memmory and tweaking can do a differnes there too. But i think there are other here who knows that better than me.

13.5k in 03... 75.9 drivers are way better for 03. I ran with 71.20s for 03. There faster than 61.34s for 03/05. 05 is 5k at 2.6ghz 445/940.

i know that the 61.34 can't be better in 03/05, the 13403 was done with 75.90

About your 3dmark scores, soon i will reach your 3dmark03 score, shall start adjusting LOD value next time I bench. SHall you do any 3dmark03/05 runs soon or just focus on 3dmark2k1 ?

71.84 and 71.90 seems to be new drivers, anyone who knows if they are faster than the 75.90? don't think so but hope for higher scores :D

Good question. I run win2k for all but didn't see any improvments in 03/05 with win2k. Haven't test AM3 at all.

SillySider03, go to your AM3 overview page, your score will be your FPS (on the same line as where it tells your overall score.

the overall score IS the FPS, just multiplied by 1000. i dont know how it get the individual cpu and gfx scores, but the FPS is obviously not dependent on what numbers it comes up for the cpu and gfx.

it probably takes certain parts of the run, that are either more cpu dependent or gfx card dependent, and calculates the cpu and gfx scores from that. thats my best guess.
