I use both the Vantec and the OCZ sinks, the Vantec are thicker and may requier better airflow for cooling them down compared to the OCZ sinks.

is the "Preaffixed" thermal tape any good?

Depends, much easier to remove when you use the tape, but not nearly as good cooling the RAM chips.
Thermal epoxy transfers heat much better, but removal is trickier. I use the epoxy, but mix in 1/3 AS5 so it's much easier to get them loose.
Those Frozen CPU copper sinks have the largest surface area.
