Hi i'll done the vgpu and vmem mod on my X800XT PE agp and i've have it cooled down with my watersys, have the radiater outside the window so it sucks cold air as about -7c to -8c and the card show +6 to +8 and i have my winnie upp in 262 x 11 1:1, volt on gpu is 1.85 and on mem 2.24v an i can draw the clock upp to an about 670/670 but sometimes it work to run 3d01 but in most case i have black sceen or bluescreen or it just freeze, my question is do i have to do the OVP-mod to fix this irritating issues?
please answer you ho have about the same trouble please no considering and guessing this is very important to mee because i am going to try LN2 in a while have done so many DI run so i have to do LN2 too before im satisfied. :)
I'm very thanksfull for an answer from people ho knows this problem.
btw, my thoghts is my card is going on to slow down, buts thats my thought'sÂŽ
Anyhow i will change my VR-pots though they've been siting there since iv'e made my mods and it's about for 3 or 4 month now so i think they are a little to much used becouse they act strange when i raise or lower the volts on the card.
Please help me with this issues it's very irritating :stick:

Have you watched your Vgpu realtime while benching the system? If I dial in say 1.75Vgpu (GPU@700MHz, total load counts here) on my x800xtpe while idle I get a 0.03V drop (1.75->1.72) in the simpler 3dm01 tests (Car low, drag low for instance), and an additional 0.03-0.04V drop (drops from 1.75->1.68ish) in some parts of Nature. And when this happens the card tends to freeze. Boosting the 5V rail on my system helps a lot, and I need the 5Vrail@6.2V to make the Vreg hold at 1.8Vgpu (GPU@720-725) during all tests. The over current mod doesn't help at all in my case.

OVP kicks in at 1.85V, try lowering it to 1.82-1.83 see if it still happens. Common sign of hitting the OVP is black screen. Did you try 1.85V at stock clocks yet?

no i have'nt watch the vgpu in realtime but i will do that and see if it drops alot there, and i cant mod up my psu it does'nt have any sense wire  but i have a old antec 550w that i can test to mod upp the rails on that allthogh it's very slowly i have used it alot..
=[PULSAR]= : yes i have tryed to run att stock clock at 1.85 vgpu and it works it does'nt freeze o do blacks or blue it cames when i clock up to atleast 661 at gpu :(

1st its not OVP its OCP, has nothing to do with limiting voltage, it limits current. So do the OCP mod and it will more than likely fix the problem. Boosting the +5V rail isnt going to do anything unless you have a really crappy PSU IMHO

My rails are solid (measured at the x800 power connector). I have 3 multimeters connected monitoring 12V, 5V, and Vgpu when I dial in a new voltage and oc. It seems as if one of the current sharing channels craps out (goes into minimum mode, probably the 5V one). Atleast that's the case with my board, and one other that I know of (but mine is worse). In my case I'm getting seriously crappy Vgpu regulation already at 1.625-1.65Vgpu (670ish on the core). I haven't even bothered trying 1.85.
But yes, I agree. I would try the over current protection mod first. My point is just that I think maybe people throw a lot more voltage at this gpu, than often is really needed. Lots of voltage isn't going to help if its not clean.

OVP or OCP you know what i meant, ok then i set the O?P mod and see if thats gonna help me get rid of the blacks and blue screenies.
And my psu i strong enough to handle it i know that though i've measured it a lot on both idle and load and in high clocks it's drops almost nothing in volt.
but will this probably fix my problem it's fine i'll do it :stick:

ocp mod don't do a damn thing i'll get blacks with all tre mod and new pots on all, and i have take down resist to 22k from 41k on that resistor that i mod on the vr-pot it doesn't help it's the same, all work perfek before but one day it just go bad on this damn card can't clock 634/634 at all any more and this is on 1.7v vgpu and 2.2 v vdd. could it bee that the cpu cant handle that speed now i can't bench at all in that clock on vard and 255 x 11 1:1 1.63v vcore what is this :banana::banana::banana: some one who nows it???

i have the same problem with my x800xt pe
atitool say ok to 650 /600
when i run 3dmark 2001 og 2003 or 2005 it just frezz
i have to go down to 625/600 for it to run test
volt is fine on all rails and the card.
have a x800se running 661/560
i relly need a mod to open it to 12 pips :)

my rails are fine too on all, but it will not work anymore
yea crap PE card! when it was new i could on stock volt with water clock both core and mem 637/627 without now problem, it seems that the card are going to bee slower and slower thats not good for a such card that cost's allot :(
my Gecube X800Pro vivo @ XTPE did the same thing when i tested it on dryice. Above 1.8V the screen just went blank a few seconds into 3dmark, no matter what gametest. This was with OVP-mod and Vmem @ 2.2V. 5V-rail @ 5.5V.
It clocked 640/660 on water and 648/660 on DI :( maybe we were just unlucky and got crappy cards

no it cant bee that because on DI i've had it up to 700+ on gpu and o mem 680+ before :(
