Lads...

I cannot seem to get stable on this board when I set the memory to run any higher than 220/225 ? ? I have OCZ Platinum 3200 Rev.2 that have done 275 in a Neo2.

WHenever I set the tiimings to 2.5-3-3-10 (2.7v) at anything above 220ish I get BSOD or errors in Test #6 on Memtest (OCZ Support Forum tells me thats Mobo related).

I am using a SATA drive (Raptor) plugged into the "SATA_RAID 1" slot and have the BIOS set to Promise IDE MODE. Have I got the HD in the right slot or should it be in another one?

Whenever I get the BSOD, when I reboot, Windows tells me about my serious error and then conforms that it was a "Device Driver Error"?

Is this just the worst overclocking motherboard or does it just not like my RAM? Either way its annoying and means I cannot wait for the DFI Nforce3 AGP 939 board to arrive.. if its half as overclockable as the Nforce4 illbe happ

It sounds as though I dont have working locks or summat?

What revision is the board ? (you can find out what revision it is by looking between the last 2 PCI slots). Also : have you set the PCI/AGP lock to 33/66 ? If not 222MHz should be about the max. where you should get if the PCI bus is not locked at 66MHz (especially with SATA drives).

You should be able to do better than that , unless its a revision 1 board .

set every thing in the bios (you should upgrade the bios) to manual / limit - set the pci lock to 33/66 check your voltages etc .

i run ballistix at 2.5.-3-3 with 2t set to disabled (1t)..... pc is happy at 2.57ghz

Vcore is set to 1.6v vDimm to 2.7v everything is on manual and PCI is locked at 33/66

Do you know which SATA port I should be using?

SATA_RAID 1

or

SATA 1 ??

Thanx lads :)

I am using the VIA ports (SATA1) wich have been reported to cause problems, however I reached a 260FSB without any data corruption. SATA_RAID are the ports controled by the Promise controler. Howvere both are locked so you should not face those problems.

Have you tried a lower memory divider and / or lower HTT multi ?

You should first enable the VIA SATA from the BIOS and install the drivers. Only after try to switch. You shouldn't have any problems unless you have RAID enabled. And if it doesn't work you can simply go back :D. However you don't seem to have a HDD related problem as you mention that MemTest86 fails which isn't related to SATA.

Thanx man

Memtest fails test #6 which accordking to OCZ is mobo related?

How do i install the Via SATA drivers? I think i have them on the CD and a floppy? but do i install them in DOS or windows??

The A8V is rock solid at stock speeds, but hits a road block at 230mz.

You could try upping your mem voltage to 2.8, and relaxing your timings. I have to run mine at 2336. When I OC to 230mz, I have to up the Vcore to 1.7v. Going above that doesn't help.

No matter what I do, I can't get my FX53 (default is 2400) to go above 2800.

It's the Via K8T800 Pro Chipset that is holding us back. People who have the Abit AV8 hit the same roadblock. We're stuck, there is nothing you can do about it.

I even tried G.Skill LE memory, same results. Wanna read about it all, go here.
