Does the XP-120 fit on the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum? Also what would the best fan be to buy for the XP-120?

The choice of fans is what your ears can sustain. The best is Delta GHE, bidirectional monster that blows 220 CFM concentrated and makes an airport noise. It also sucks 30W of electricity and cannot be controlled with any fan controller on the market. You'd also need to figure out how not to let that fly out of your case together with XP-120 once it starts.

I am not looking for a fan like that. I want something that is pretty quite, but cool pretty well. Also is the XP-120 really the best for air cooling? I may get this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-129-144&depa=1) case too. Will that case be good for cooling?
Can you give me a link to the Delta GHE though? Now that you said something about it I just want to look at it :D

the XP-120 is inferior to the sp series of heatsinks. It is also inferior to the hyper 6.

Could you provide links to these products? I have seen the XP-120 cooling slightly better then the SP-94, but I have not heard anything about the hyper 6.

Not so sure about SPs but Hyper 6 is here, and it isn't that much expensive.
The problem is that it is rather heavy thing for the upright case.

If you put Delta blower on XP-120 I do not see how can anything esle be better. It really depends how much you blow at the heatsink. :D

You will notice than in fact the Hyper 6 is inferior to both SP-94 and XP-120. In fact SP-94 still remains the king-of-the-hill if you use a high CFM 80mm fan. However if you want silence and performance there is no better choice than the XP-120 (on air). I have both SP-94 and XP-120 and I have used both of them on my older P4 rig as well as on my newer A64 rig and I definately prefer the XP120 :D

1 degree hotter and the Hyper6 is inferior, heck it even beats the XP-120 with a slow fan. Get your act straight scorp, you're obviously completely biased by your ownership of the XP-120(even though you yourself use a low RPM fan).
God I hate fanboys.
I have the XP90 and a medium speed Panaflow, with adequate case cooling and my temps dont go past 40C (CPU,Chipset,PCWM).. I would definetly say that the XP90 is a good heatsink that will keep your chipset cool.. I don't know about the hyper 6 and how it performs, but the XP90 is a great heatsink in my book.

How exactly is the H6 superior if is is 1 degree hotter than the XP120 and 3 degrees hotter than the SP-94 (keep in mind that the Coolink fan they used is a high-RPM one, so it also generates a lot of noise) ? My opinion is based on the ownership of SP94 and XP120 << AT THE SAME TIME >> (btw : I still use the SP-94 in my P4 rig). I have chosen the XP120 for the AMD one because it performed better with low-speed fans and it also managed to cool down the MOSFETS at the same time. And really : how would you define "superior" or "inferior" for heatsinks if not by comparing temperatures ?

I think he believes that because it (h6) weighs more than 2 times the manufacturer's spec for MAXIMUM weight of a heatsink, it must be good? I mean the xp-120 comes in under weight... how well could that cool ???
Notes:
AMD spec 450g
XP-120 370g
H6 990g

Read my post again, I've never claimed that the Hyper6 is superior, it is you only you reading more into it.
Using the word superior or inferior to denote a difference of 1-3 degrees is hardly appropriate,
In the test you posted:
The Hyper 6 is 2 degrees cooler than the XP-120 and 6 degrees cooler than the SP-94 in low RPM.
In High RPM it is barely 1 degree over the XP-120 and 3 degrees over the SP-94.
With all that in mind, calling either inferior to the other is quite a stretch(although I don't expect a non-native speaker such as yourself to comprehend such nuances).
I suggest you chill and take a look at what you are saying, you'll realize how profoundly stupid it comes out here when the man is asking for a low RPM solution for the relatively cool A64 platform. If you cannot do this, then I suggest you save us the anguish of having to read your contradicting posts and refrain from posting at all. Thanks.

How could I be a fanboy when I have never owned, and never intend to own a Hyper6? or were you just trying to induce an epileptic seizure to whoever reads you post?
Either way you aren't contributing very much to the thread(no, contributing with your ignorance and lack of ability to read and comprehend written word doesn't count. Sorry).

AGAIN, LOL..... you have COMPLETELY misunderstood. FANBOY is funny inregards to a thread discussing fans and heat sinks. Get a grip.... its not always about you.
LOL... carry on, CHEERS!!

Well can anyone answer my original questions?
Does the XP-120 fit on the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum?
What would the best fan be to buy for the XP-120?
If the XP-120 does not fit what is the best fan for XP-90?
Is this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-129-144&depa=1) case good for cooling?
For the fans I am not looking for something that is really loud. Something quite, but pushes quite a bit of air. If there are no good options for really quite then it is OK if it is a little noisy to get good cooling, but I don't want it REALLY loud.

Nothing quiet can push much air. Go for Papst or Panaflo then. You can use Delta VHE or SHE with a fan controller too. My YSTech is rather quiet too.
There is a trade off between noise and cooling and quiet fans cannot match Deltas.

Does anyone know if this heatsink will fit on a DFI Lanparty UT NF4 ULTRA-D? I am thinking that to be my next mobo. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I checked the thermalright site on DFI motherboards and they only said that the LAN PARTY UT nF3 250Gb will work but that is all they tested on DFI boards.

Also, to KoolDrew. The board your wanting won't support the XP-120. "K8N Neo4 Platinum Not Compatible" I can't give you the link cause the site is address ghosted. :stick:
The best fan I would get for the XP-90 would have to be the Panaflow FBA09A12H (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=13925&vpn=FBA09A12H&manufacture=Panasonic) or the Tornado (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=10126&vpn=TD9238H&manufacture=VANTEC) with a rehostat.

You can look at this address XP120 compatibility list (http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/main_support_faq_motherboard_xp120_k8.htm) for the MBs that are compatible with the XP120. If you really want the MSI K8N Neo4, than get a Hyper6 or XP90.

Thanks guys. I'll just go with the Xp-90 with a panaflo 92mm fan. I have one more question though. Would this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-129-144&depa=1) case be good for cooling?
EDIT:
Actually would it be better to just go with DFI's board? I heard it OC's a bit better. Then I can get the XP-120.

that case is fine, JMS you have enough fans. DFI is far superior -- get that with an XP-120 and your good
